After buyers complete the application and screening process, Kim & Jerry partners with them to find the best puppy match.
“Dakota Rose Aussies has its own separate puppy questionnaire form. This allows us to better get to know you and where our puppies will be going to ensure the best possible match for pups and new owners.”

“Regular prices are $1200 for tris and $1800 for merles. Breeding rights may be given at an extra fee and the approval of the breeding program. Dakota Rose Aussies shall provide the following upon the completion of the adoption process: • A quality purebred standard-sized Australian Shepherd puppy – a minimum of 8 weeks old • AKC paperwork for registering your puppy (pursuant to AKC rules), if applicable • ASCA paperwork for registering your puppy (pursuant to ASCA rules), if applicable • Your puppy’s deworming and vaccination schedule • Veterinarian health check document • A small supply of your puppy’s current food • Littermate comfort blanket • Current daily schedule. Complete a Dakota Rose Aussies Puppy Questionnaire form. If approved, you will be asked to place a $200 non-refundable fee. This fee will be applied toward the purchase price of your puppy. If you are looking to secure your position upon our waitlist, your position on that list will be secured upon receipt of your non-refundable fee. If you are inquiring and proceeding with a selection of a puppy that is still available after the waitlist selection process (after the litter is 3-5 weeks old), the total price of the puppy includes the $200 non-refundable fee. The total price of the selected puppy must be received by Dakota Rose Aussies prior to delivery.”

These guys are at such a cute age! They are full of energy, curiosity, and they have such nice personalities! They are doing great with crate training and house training. They are busy exploring and learning new things, and they love their human attention most of all!

Thor (AKC ASCA) and Whisper (AKC ASCA)'s litter

Australian Shepherd
About Thor (AKC ASCA)
You cannot get a more VELCRO buddy than Thor, and Jerry is his #1 human. He will drop anything and everything to smother you with kisses! If you are fixing the tractor - HE is fixing the tractor! He is the sweetest boy, and SO SMART. He is extremely athletic, can easily jump high, is super fast and can corner on a dime! He is a natural for agility training! He loves to play fetch and could do it all day, but his most favorite thing is belly rubs! He is champion-sired and has an outstanding pedigree with multiple champions, grand champion, and hall of famers in his lineage. He is full of energy and loves to play! Our blue-eyed boy sires some amazing babies! He is our first Aussie, and the reason we decided to expand our fur family. So in love with him!

About Whisper (AKC ASCA)
Whisper is a Black Tri with Tan points. She has a short hair working coat (short hair instead of the the long hair show coat). Whisper looks like her mother and has takes after her mother in many ways. She is more sports driven and ready to go. She is ready for us to throw the ball and when it takes to long, she is going to let you know - like a typical Aussie. Whisper's name is the only quiet and reserved thing about her. She is first in line to get a treat; first to get the ball (like her mother) and first out the door. Her mom, Rumor, may be retired, but like her mother, the high drive sport / play drive Aussie is alive and well in this line. Whisper's parents are clear on the Aussie genetic health panel, so Whisper is also!

About Ghost (AKC ASCA)
Ghost is a Blue Merle with a show coat (long hair) with two blue eyes. Ghost is a stunning sweet boy! What can we say about him – LOTS! True to his name, he is quiet and VELCROed to our side. He is our gentle shadow and ever so observant. Ghost, like his sister, Taffy, has a heart of gold. He loves to play with his fur family and human family. He especially loves to fetch Jolly Balls, and Thor gained another fetching buddy! Like Thor, Ghost could play fetch all day! Literally, ALL DAY!! Our arms and shoulders get quite the workout! An endearing quality that both Ghost and Taffy have is that they will gently tap on our leg or arm when they want more loving. If we do not provide some personalized attention within a reasonable amount of time, we will get another gentle tap to remind us that they are there! Ghost is PATIENT, SMART, and very charming and gentle. Those baby blues and that spectacular personality shine bright! He is a great addition to our family and program and we cannot wait to see more from him!

About Pebbles (AKC ASCA)
My lil shadow comes to mind! You move, she moves, you nap, she naps, you go outside, she goes outside LOL... you get the picture! She is so sweet, very affectionate, highly intelligent, has a great memory and can remember exactly where we put a "cat" toy she isn't allowed to have!!!

About Dragon (ASCA)
Blue Merle White/Copper Eyes: Brown When we were looking to add to our breeding program and we saw this Dragon as a puppy, we thought to ourselves that this little boy was absolutely beautiful. He had what we call a splatter merle pattern come out in his offspring. Boy were we right - take a look at the beautiful puppies that he has sired. Dragon loves to play and loves being pet. Don't get me started on how much he loves belly rubs. As a puppy he had large paws and a unique merle pattern with his copper in his legs. We are seeing this in his puppies too. Dragon plays well with his Dakota Rose brothers and he has a loving temperament. Dragon is both attention and treat driven and he always the first to come to us - probably because he is the youngest and he doesn't want to be left out. He was a great pick to add to our program.

About Karma (AKC ASCA)
Red Tri with Tan Points; Eyes: L-Brown, R-Brown. Karma is a Red Tri with Tan Points with a working coat (meaning a short hair coat). She is the only pup from Taffy that we kept. Taffy had several litters and was such a good mama that we kept looking for the perfect pup to keep from her. We picked Karma to be the continuation of her line. Taffy's since picking Karma, we have made the decision to retire Taffy due to a problem pregnancy. We are very happy to have Karma in our program, she has the same loving and playful nature that her mama has. Now Taffy is the designated grandmother / puppy-sitter to all the puppies on in our program.

About Flirt (AKC ASCA)
Black Tri with Tan Points Eyes: L-Brown, R-Brown Even as a puppy, we saw something special in this little girl. Her mother is "Roo" and her father is "Ghost." So we see that this pairing created this passive group of puppies. Flirt would look at us and everything that was going on. As an adult, she is incredibly observant and loving. She keeps her paws on the ground and comes up to put her head into us for love. She really is the best parts of both of her parents. We love this temperament and we are looking forward to see what comes from our future pairings.

Australian Shepherd
About Licorice (AKC ASCA)
BLK WH Mkgs Tan Pts Eyes: L-Brown, R-Brown Licorice was added to our program because she and her sister "FLIRT" showed an amazing personality that we felt we needed to have in our program. Now after our first litter with these two girls, we believe that we made the right decision. Licorice is a sweet girl who is attention driven. She instinctively keeps her paws on the floor and shows her personality in more reserved manner like her father ghost, but you can see that she loves up on us just as fiercely as her mother "ROO." We are excited to see what comes from our future pairings.

Australian Shepherd
About Sadie (AKC ASCA)
Sadie is a Red Tri with copper points; Eyes: L-Hazel, R-Hazel. Sadie is a daughter of Rumor and Ghost. Again, we are seeing that Ghost's calmness is coming through. We often hear from people who are concerned that Aussies are high energy. It has been our experience that our aussies have a strong play drive, where in they will play for hours if your arm is willing to throw the ball / Frisbee that long. However, if you play with them for 20 minutes and then bring them into the house, they have an off switch that allows them to just lay at your feet or sit with you on the couch. Sadie is a lover and a couch buddy and she is a great addition to our program.

Australian Shepherd
About Jazz (AKC ASCA)
Black W/ White/Copper (Show Coat - Long Hair) Eyes: L-Brown R-Blue Jazz is one of those puppies in the litter that grabs your attention and says make me your puppy forever. When the other puppies are off being puppies, JAZZ was auditioning to be a DAKOTA ROSE Aussie girl furever. There is no doubt about it that Jazz loves it here with us. She wants to go for a ride and be apart of the actions just like her grandfather - Thor. Jazz loves attention and treats equally, and we can definitely see both the calm behavior of her father, Ghost and her attentiveness of her mother Kahlua. Jazz is perfect mix of a social truck buddy that also wants to be right beside you all the time.

About Nitro (AKC ASCA)
Nitro is a great addition to our family and program! He is super sweet, mid to high energy and plays well with everyone. One of the unique features about this VELCRO boy is his ability to HUG! His hugs are almost human-like – full arms, with paws pressed to pull you in closer. His personality is that of an old soul - kind, gentle, attentive, and thoughtful. He can be such a cuddle bug, and truly melts our hearts! He also passes down his great personality and some unique and spectacular coloring to his offspring! This blue-eyed, spunky and energetic redhead is also a rebel when it comes to toys and his fur buddies! He sees every toy as a challenge and an opportunity. If he can sneak in and get an unguarded toy away, he will then alert everyone to his trickery, by sticking his wiggle butt in the air, tail nub waggin’, front paws hunkered down, ears perked, grin on his face, and a sparkle in his eyes…he knows he is about to be the center of everyone’s attention and the chase begins!

About Kahlua (AKC ASCA) retired
Kahlua is a Dakota Rose homegrown girl. She is the daughter of Thor and Pistol. This sweet and sassy, sugar and spice, and everything nice little redhead captured our hearts. Jerry fell in love early on, and it didn’t take long to win Kim over either. The very best traits from mom and dad all bundled up in this beautiful fireball! She has dad’s energetic athleticism and speed. She gives her daddy a run for his money! She loves Frisbee, fetch, and of course wrestling, and tug of war with her fur siblings. She is very attentive, intelligent, eager to please, and got the sweet gene from both mom and dad. She loves her humans and is particularly sweet on her Jerry human. This beautiful girl melts our hearts daily!

About Taffy (retired)
Taffy is the sweetest girl you will every meet! She is laid back, easy going, patient and gentle beyond compare. She is very submissive and attentive. She is a full sister to Ghost, and we think we hit the jackpot with these two! Taffy is happy to be a couch potato and nap on or near us. She also loves to play with her fur siblings but is also happy chilling on the floor near us just gnawing on a bone or chew. She makes us laugh and our hearts are so full of love for this girl! One minute she is gently tapping on our arm or leg, “Excuse me, excuse me, I’d like to be pet now.” You give some attention, but as soon as you stop…the paw comes tapping again – such a lover! Outside, she thinks she is a racehorse and she runs laps around our racehorse track – our backyard. She shows so much joy and you can see her smiling!

About Rumor (retired)
Rumor and Pistol are full sisters and best friends. Rumor is our Frisbee girl, and I think she loves Frisbee even more than oxygen!! She could play Frisbee for hours upon hours, if only OUR arms could endure that. She is very competitive with her Frisbee and can keep up with those long-legged, fast boys. She also loves playing fetch and laser games...but bring that Frisbee out and she is ready to go! She has such a kind and loving personality and is completely loyal and devoted to us. She is very mellow and sweet, but she can hold her own and isn't afraid to let those boys know when she is finished with their rough-housing. She is a constant shadow and follows us everywhere. In the kitchen - she becomes the floor mat right behind us and most times she is touching the back of our ankles. We are sure this is so that we know she is right there before we step back. We couldn't have asked for a sweeter girl and we are so happy that she is part of our family!

Australian Shepherd
About Pistol (retired)
You cannot find a sweeter girl than Pistol. She not only has a wiggle butt, but a whole wiggle body! She is a lapdog before your rump even hits the couch, and if you're not careful you will receive a French kiss from her without even seeing it coming! She is a huge lover of attention and cuddles into your lap like no other. One of her favorite pastimes is playing in water, mud, post holes full of water, and really anything that involves water. She loves grounder balls or rolling Frisbees and couldn’t care less about chasing after those flying toys, unless she doesn’t have to compete with those much faster fur siblings. If it’s just her, she’s all in! She is very attached to Kim and is by her side always, but the nice thing about this breed is that even though they may VELCRO to one human, they still share their love with everyone! The only time Jerry and Kim take second billing is when her sister, Rumor, is around. Their bond goes back to the womb, but she still watches our every move while playing with her sister. She is super sweet, loving and attentive! She truly melts our hearts with her warm personality and temperament!

You could tell she was loved and well it took a second for her to warm up I couldn’t be more proud of her behavior! She’s such a sweet dog and loves to explore! Definitely recommend them!
