Danford’s First Class Dachshunds

Chelsy & Nathan D.

Breeder of Dachshunds

Meet the breeder

I'm Chelsy & Nathan D., the breeder behind Danford’s First Class Dachshunds located in Pittsfield, MA. Danford’s First Class Dachshunds is committed to always responsibly breeding with the best interest of our puppies’ health and longevity at the forefront. They fell in love with the breed because of their intelligence and personality. There’s hardly a better feeling than being able to share them with other families that will love them the way that DFC Dachshunds does!

Q. & A. with Chelsy & Nathan

  • Why did you start breeding?

When Chelsy bought her first Dachshund, Patches she knew that this was her heart breed. When Nathan and Chelsy started dating, he never thought he would love a small dog the way he does Dachshunds. So for the past 5 years Chelsy has been researching and learning everything she could about the breed. That’s when Nathan and Chelsy decided to start DFC Dachshunds!
  • What makes your program special?

DFC Dachshunds is special because every single one of the dogs in the program is their pets. They get treated no differently than their other dogs who aren’t in the program. They enjoy running out in their fenced in yard, sleeping on the couch in a giant Dachshund pile, and they have more toys than they know what to do with. On top of DFC Dachshunds treating their pets like royalty, each breeding dog is genetically health tested through Embark Vet!
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include cream, black, chocolate, black and tan, chocolate and tan, and black and cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
