• Why did you start breeding?

  My journey into breeding started with a deep love for the Dachshund breed. After bringing home my first longhaired miniature Dachshund, I was completely smitten — their sweet nature, loyalty, and spunky personality stole my heart. Over time, I realized how special and unique this breed truly is and how important it is to preserve its best traits through responsible, ethical breeding. I began learning everything I could — talking to experienced breeders, studying bloodlines, and understanding the importance of health testing and early puppy development. What started as a personal passion grew into a small, purposeful breeding program with a focus on raising healthy, happy, well-adjusted Dachshunds that bring joy to others the same way mine did for me. Now, breeding is more than a hobby — it’s a calling, and I feel honored to play a role in helping families find a loving new companion.

• What makes your program special?

  At Dannie’s Doxies, we believe that quality, not quantity, is what makes a breeding program truly stand out. We are a small, hands-on breeder, which means each puppy is raised with intention, attention, and a whole lot of love. From birth to go-home day, our puppies are part of our everyday life — hearing family voices, playing with children, and learning to feel safe and confident in a home setting. What sets us apart: Family-Raised: Our puppies are never raised in kennels. They grow up underfoot in our home and are part of the family from day one. Early Socialization: We use gentle socialization and exposure techniques to help puppies develop into confident, loving companions. They’re used to everyday household sights, sounds, and routines. Health Comes First: Our parent dogs are health tested and chosen not only for beauty and structure, but also for temperament and overall well-being. Lifelong Support: We’re here for our families long after the puppies go home — whether it’s questions, training tips, or just sharing cute photos, we love staying connected. Our goal isn’t just to breed Dachshunds — it’s to raise lifelong companions with great temperaments who are truly ready for their forever families.

  Our puppies include piebald, chocolate, black and cream, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  They live in my home.
