I'm Dan R., the breeder behind Dan's Labrador Retrievers located in Eleva, WI. I am a high school teacher, husband and father of three who owns two female fox red labs. I spend a lot of time hunting, training, and hanging out with my two red gals. I was careful in my purchase, socialization, and training of my dogs and couldn't be happier with the results.

About Mickey
Every dog owner hopes their pup will grow into a healthy, loyal, friendly, calm companion. The fact that My Girl McKinley (Mickey) has become that and more for our family is a true blessing. The fact that she has also become an absolute hunting machine makes her a rare and complete dog.
Given Mickey's loaded pedigree, it shouldn't have come as a surprise, but ss Micky grew into our family, we realized her hunting aptitude was worth developing, so I decided to run her in hunting tests. I had never formally trained a dog for hunt tests, so Micky was at a definite disadvantage having me for a trainer as opposed to a professional. As we arrived at our first hunt test, I really didn't know what to expect and was pretty intimidated as the pro trainers rolled in with their clients' dogs and big money rigs. Luckily, Mickey was not intimidated. Despite only a 50% test pass rate, Mickey flew through the tests going 4 for 4 over the course of two weekends and earning her junior title without a single failure. My daughter took a shine to dog training, so she has decided to continue Mickey's training toward a senior title, and I expect those two will have continued success at the next level.
As you can see, Mickey is a stunning red with classic head and body proportions. She hunts at about 68 pounds. We think that Mickey's intense field drive, calm manners in the duck blind, along with her laid-back, affectionate demeanor around the home will combine perfectly with North's equally impressive field drive, and therapy-dog level personality. If you are looking for outstanding family dogs that make a day in the field or blind a complete joy, these may be a great fit for you and your family!

DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), D Locus (Dilute) DNA test
