Meet the breeder

I'm Dawn J., the breeder behind Dawn's Labrador Retrievers located in Chichester, NH. We are committed to the preservation and improvement of the Labrador Retriever through selective breeding grounded in comprehensive health testing including OFA evaluations, genetic screening and adherence to the AKC breed standard. We prioritize sound structure, stable temperament, working ability that is consistent with the Labrador's heritage as a versatile sporting and companion dog. Each litter is purposefully planned to produce physically sound, mentally resilient and well socialized puppies suited for performance, field and companion homes.

Q. & A. with Dawn

  • Why did you start breeding?

In 2023 my partner and I decided we wanted to add to our pack with a Labrador Retriever. After researching ethical breeders in our area, that produce healthy Retrievers with a sound background, we discovered everyone in the breeding business isn't necessarily doing it for the right reasons. That's when we began our quest to find our first two labs with the healthiest lineage we could obtain.
  • What makes your program special?

Focus on health is foundational. Our dogs go through comprehensive health testing to ensure they will meet or exceed breed standards. We carefully choose pairings based on temperament, evaluation of genetics, screening for hereditary conditions and make pairing decisions based on improving the overall strength and vitality of the line. We strive to produce dogs that live long, active and fulfilling lives.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
