I'm Ann D., the breeder behind Day Dream Akita & Shiba Inu located in Newberry, MI. We have been breeding high quality AKC standard Akitas for over 25 years, producing over 70 AKC champions to date. We started our Shiba Inu adventures a little over 5 years now, & we R well on our way to making generations of gorgeous champion shiba inus as well. Quality Dedication Pride Integrity.

Getting a puppy from Ann
Ann has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices include a $1,000 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $4,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Vixie has the sweetest most loving personality, calm laid back, loves all other animals and children we couldn’t ask for a better all around temperament, she’s pasted all her OFA’s with flying colors earned her CHIC with OFA. Has been to AKC shows and won her majors, we just need to get her singles and she will soon have her championship (very limited shows).

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

We had an amazing experience getting our Shiba Inu, Teo, from Ann. From the very beginning, the communication was incredibly easy and clear — every question we had was answered promptly and thoroughly, which made the whole process feel smooth and reassuring. When Teo arrived home, it was clear how well he had been taken care of. He was a happy, confident little puppy, already familiar with some basic commands, and surprisingly good at crate training and pee pad training for his age (around 14 weeks). The strong foundation she gave him made the transition to our home so much easier and less stressful, both for us and for him. It’s obvious that Ann puts a lot of love and attention into raising her puppies. Teo came to us healthy, well-socialized, and so ready to become part of our family. We are so grateful for the wonderful care and dedication she showed, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Highly recommended to anyone looking for a loving, responsible breeder.

Ann was a dream to work with. She answered all our questions and sent many photos updates of our puppy to us that are just so beautiful. By the time our puppy was ready for pickup we were just so excited to meet him in person. I could tell right away she is a real pro and that gave me a lot of confidence. Good Dog made the process easy and straightforward from beginning to end and tech support was great at answering my questions. I would work with Ann again in a heartbeat to get another puppy, she is the best! We absolutely love our new puppy, he brings so much happiness to our home.
