Meet the breeder

I'm Ann S., the breeder behind Deer Hill Collies located in East Berlin, PA. We focus on intentional breeding so that we can produce quality puppies that are excellent representations of the standard. We are dedicated to always having responsible policies when it comes to breeding, training, and rehoming our pups. We love what we do and truly want nothing more than to see each and every one of our puppies shine!

Q. & A. with Ann

  • Why did you start breeding?

After years of owning and showing collies, I finally decided I was ready to breed a litter of my own. This was not a decision I took lightly and only proceeded after doing much research on the collie breed, the collie standard and the proper health testing.
  • What makes your program special?

I only breed when I’m ready for a new puppy for myself. I study pedigrees and have all of my collies health tested. Since I fully intend to keep a puppy for myself, I try to produce healthy, well tempered pups that conform to the collie standard.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include rough and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
