Desert Bloom Ranch

Summer H.

Breeder of Miniature Australian Shepherds

Meet the breeder

I'm Summer H., the breeder behind Desert Bloom Ranch located in Washington, UT. We are a small breeder of Miniature Australian Shepherds located in Southwestern Utah. Our goal is to produce mentally and physically sound dogs who are bred to the MASCA breed standard. Our dogs can perform any task required of them as well as be loving companions.

Q. & A. with Summer

  • Why did you start breeding?

I found a few breeder mentors who’s programs mirrored the goals of what my program would be. Then I spent two years following them and asking questions until I finally felt comfortable breeding myself.
  • What makes your program special?

I have conformation judges evaluate my breeding stock before breeding them to ensure that I am only breeding the best examples of the breed. Additionally, I offer a lifetime support system for my puppy buyers so they always have a place to turn for help. If I don’t have an answer for them I will help them research and find the correct answer.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We will not place a puppy based on color or eye color. We will take buyers preference into consideration, but placement will be based off of temperament testing conducted at the age of 7 weeks old.”

Summer may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
