I'm Gretchen C., the breeder behind DivaDoxi located in Livingston, LA. I have been raising dachshunds since 1999 and would love to share all the wonderful things that come with this amazing breed. We strive to make sure our puppies encompass everything expected in the wonderful breed known as a dachshund. I want to ensure it truly is the dachshund of your dreams.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    From the time I was five my family raised dachshunds. I was involved in every aspect of the process and learned early on how to properly care for dachshunds. In 1999 I had the opportunity to begin my own dachshund family. For me breeding isn't just about puppies, it is about raising healthy, well-socialized companions that will be integral parts of families. I want every family to experience the charm of the dachshund.

  • What makes your program special?

    I have a lifetime of experience with the dachshund breed. We plan every pairing based on health, structure, temperament and the undeniable dachshund presence. I focus on raising puppies in a loving, hands-on environment so they are social, loving and loyal. Each puppy is raised with purpose ensuring early socialization and individual attention. Planned activities balanced with free play for puppies to learn and explore. Our puppies are raised to be companions backed by our passion for the breed.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include piebald, cream, chocolate, fawn (isabella), fawn (isabella) and tan, fawn (isabella) and cream, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, blue and cream, blue and tan, black and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Gretchen

Gretchen has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Gretchen partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $3,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Included with the price of your Puppy is a prepaid AKC limited registration, vet records, microchip, puppy starter pack and a one year genetic health guarantee. Once a deposit is placed on a specific puppy, the puppy is considered reserves and any other inquiries will not be accepted.”

Gretchen may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
