DK'S Sassy River Shelties

Destiny K.

Breeder of Shetland Sheepdogs

Meet the breeder

I'm Destiny K., the breeder behind DK'S Sassy River Shelties located in Tellico Plains, TN. My puppies are bred to exceed the typical sheltie standard. I breed with a purpose to reduce the likelihood of nervousness in the breed. My puppies are raised in my home, and go through daily confidence building activities. They also get plenty of one on one time to have a sense of individualism.

Q. & A. with Destiny

  • Why did you start breeding?

I grew up in a showing/breeding home. I always helped my mom and grandma with their litters. I branched out to golden retrievers and produced many service and search and rescue dogs. I stopped breeding them because of the bad health. I decided to come back to shelties for the much better health and the amazing personality. I don't regret a single thing. They are the best dogs!
  • What makes your program special?

I raise my puppies with the Empowered Breeder Method. I also do ENS/ESI with every litter, I do lick mats, shuffle mats, puzzles, brain games, one on ones with each puppy, and I always make sure to keep shots and prevention medications up to date on the litters. They leave microchipped and ready for their forever lives. I also offer a Puppy Kindergarten for the puppies that need to stay longer.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
