I'm Diane J., the breeder behind DNR Labrador Retrievers located in St. Clair County, MI. DNR Labrador Retrievers' established in 1986, located in Michigan. Our goal has been to protect the quality of the Labrador Retriever as a breed. We start with great temperaments, then make sure they are sound of the body through health tests. Our Labrador Retriever puppies are out of carefully planned breedings to ensure and promote the great, outstanding companion dog the Labrador is known to be. Whether you want to hunt, obedience, conformation, or a couch potato, these pups have the aptitude to be versatile enough to do it all.
Q. & A. with Diane
Why did you start breeding?
When we purchased our first Labrador, we had no idea about breeding her, but when you live with a Lab they steal your heart, and we were hooked. And so it began, learning the pedigrees, clearances, joining the LRC, with even more learning, showing conformation, obedience, and doing what they do best duck hunting.
What makes your program special?
We try our very best to breed a healthy, smart, good looking dog, with the temperament that Labradors are known for. When finding our pups a new home, we do our very best to find a forever home. If we do have a problem with the owner, we want the dog to come back to us. We will take the time to find a new home. We microchip our pups if lost or stolen we can get them back where they belong.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
