I'm Melissa K., the breeder behind Dominos Ch Mini Dachshunds located in Belton, TX. I am passionate about my dogs!
Over the yrs I have tested patellas, hearts, temperaments, eyes + DNA through AKC and Embark. I wrote a paper on the genetics of the Piebald and it was published in both major clubs.
I am ready to breed for healthy creams.
Q. & A. with Melissa
Why did you start breeding?
My husband moved around a lot with his job so I wanted something I could do wherever we went. It worked out great.
What makes your program special?
I actually have used the best bloodlines. I’m not just saying I have. I actually have tested my dogs and selected heavily to get the healthiest lines I can. I have line bred, outcrossed and Inbred over the yrs to test my lines.
When I decided to try to breed the creams it took me buying at least four different creams before I could use one in my program. They all had to many faults to breed.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include longhaired, smooth, and wirehaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red, wild boar, chocolate, wheaten, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, blue and tan, and black and cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
