I'm Eric L., the breeder behind Doodle Babies located in Statesville, NC. At Doodle Babies, we specialize in raising healthy, well socialized Mini & Medium Bernedoodles, Mini Goldendoodles, and Cavapoos in the heart of Statesville, North Carolina. All my parent dogs are genetically tested and puppies all receive a veterinarian wellness exam before leaving to their new homes.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    When I was younger my mother used to breed Newfoundland's. We love providing families with their fur-ever family member as brings so much love & joy. I started to raise doodles due to allergies and them being allergy friendly. I now only raise doodles that are allergy friendly.

  • What makes your program special?

    Well not to sound biased, but I think my girls are what make it special. They all have amazing personalities and are amazing mothers to their puppies. They're also all genetically tested. I ensure all puppies are well socialized by introducing puppies gradually to other dogs, animals, and everyday noises to help them grow more confident and be ready for new homes.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our Cavapoo puppies are toy size. Bernedoodle puppies are mini size. Goldendoodle puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Cavapoo puppies include red and apricot. Bernedoodle puppies include sable, black, black and white, tri-color, phantom, blue merle, and merle. Goldendoodle puppies include cream, apricot, red, chocolate, and merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Eric

Eric has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Eric partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $700 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Includes a one year health guarantee. spay/neuter contract, CKC registration, microchip, socialization, current vaccinations, and deworming. Non-refundable deposit to hold your puppy. Deposit will count towards price of puppy. Puppy must be picked up within 7 days from Deposit paid or within 7 days of go home date.”

  • Hip Dysplasia , Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI), Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

    Eric was fantastic to work with! Not only was he very responsive when it came to my questions, but he was also incredibly knowledgeable about Bernedoodles in general… My husband and I have owned many different breeds of dogs in the past, but we were unfamiliar with Bernedoodles so the fact that he provided so much information both on the dog’s profile and through messages kept our minds at ease. We also liked that he provided information about the puppy’s parents, and we were very impressed with the array of genetic testing that’s conducted on the dogs. The best part is, he really did make the process extremely seamless for us! He was also incredibly accommodating when it came to specifics for pick up of the pup we were interested in (Bandit) as well as the accommodations for meeting up with us, which was SO helpful! What my husband and I also really liked about Doodle Babies pups is that they are all raised around other dogs and around children. We are expecting our first baby soon and this was hugely important to us, and he made sure to send us updates/pics/videos in a timely fashion whenever we asked. Eric/Good Dog also made the process of signing contracts and paying securely very straightforward. Bandit is as handsome in person as he looked in his photos and he is as healthy as can be! Overall, we had such a great experience with both Doodle Babies and Good Dog and are sooo happy and grateful that we found Bandit! He is such a great puppy with a great personality.

    Eric was excellent to work with. He was super responsive and understanding. We were surprising our girls with our puppy and he was very understanding of our situation.
