Heather B.

Breeder of Australian Shepherds

Meet the breeder

I'm Heather B., the breeder behind Dos Lobos Ranch, LLC located in Decatur, TX. We established our ranch in January 2023 raising beef, pork, chicken, and eggs for the DFW area. We started out with a rescued Aussie and he showed us that a good working dog is a critical member of a ranch. When we added more cattle, we quickly realized that one dog isn't enough. So we added!

Q. & A. with Heather

  • Why did you start breeding?

When we started our ranch and started adding more cattle, we quickly realized that 1 stock dog is not enough! We decided at that point that if we brought on more dogs, they needed to be well-bred and from working lines with the intention of replacing themselves for us as we grow our ranch operation. Anything we don't keep for ourselves needs to serve an equally high standard for other ranchers.
  • What makes your program special?

Our girls have shown incredible intelligence with stock, are very biddable, and each has their own "style" with stock. They're both very strong on cattle while one is better with goats and the other is better with pigs. Together, they are a nice complement and nothing escapes their notice. Both are Catty x Cowpuncher pups with clearance by parentage with Good Hips, eyes, and MDR1 non-carrier.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
