I'm Ashlee C., the breeder behind Double A. Doxies located in New Albany, MS. We take great pride in raising healthy, affectionate, and well-rounded puppies for families to love. Watching each one grow and develop their own unique personality brings us so much joy. We can’t wait for you to meet your next loyal companion—one that will fill your home with happiness, love, and plenty of tail wags for years to come. ❤️🐾.
Q. & A. with Ashlee
Why did you start breeding?
My love for the Dachshund breed began when I was just three years old. I grew up with two miniature shorthairs named Ginger and Gretchen. Ginger was a smooth coat red, and Gretchen was a smooth coat black and tan. Both were intelligent, loyal, and the heart of our family. Ginger especially loved when I would blow bubbles for her—she would chase them endlessly, determined to catch one.
Growing up with Dachshunds gave me the desire to pass that same bond and joy on to my own children. In 2010, when my husband and I bought our first home, we finally had the freedom to choose any pet we wanted without needing a landlord’s permission. My husband was always more of a “big dog guy”—until January 2011, when we brought home our first Dachshund, Hank. He was truly one of a kind and filled our home with love for 12 wonderful years. We lost him in November 2022, just one day after his 12th birthday, due to health issues and old age. His memory will always hold a special place in our hearts.
I am a licensed cosmetologist and have done hair on and off for the past 12 years, while focusing most of my time on raising our children. My husband has owned and operated his flooring business since right out of high school, and we’ve been blessed to watch it grow over the years. In 2016, after a second high-risk pregnancy, I officially became a full-time stay-at-home mom. That’s when we decided to expand our family—with more Dachshunds, of course!
By 2019, our home was full of wagging tails, wet noses, and endless love. Over the years, we’ve raised puppies who have gone on to join families in New York, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, Florida, Louisiana, Ohio, Kentucky, South Carolina, and many other states.
Our commitment doesn’t stop at our front door. My parents are a huge part of our journey as well. My dad, a retired truck driver of 17 years, and my mom help us safely deliver puppies to their new homes, no matter the distance. They also share our love for the breed as they have two of their own—Rudy and Dixie . Dixie is one of our retired moms from Double A Doxies, making this passion truly a family affair.
Every puppy we raise is loved, spoiled, and cared for until they are placed into the arms of their forever families. Dachshunds are more than just dogs to us—they’re family. At Double A Doxies, our goal is to give other families the same joy, love, and loyalty that this amazing breed has given us for generations. ❤️
What makes your program special?
All of our puppies are lovingly raised inside our home as part of our family. From the very first day, they are nurtured with gentle handling, daily interaction, and plenty of affection to help them grow into happy, confident, and well-adjusted dogs. Our children, my husband and I spend countless hours socializing the puppies—introducing them to new sights, sounds, and experiences—so that they are ready to transition smoothly into their forever homes.
Throughout their time with us, each puppy receives individualized attention, plenty of playtime, and early training to encourage good behavior and healthy habits. By the time they leave us at 8 weeks old, they are not only healthy and happy, but also pre-spoiled, loved, and ready to bring joy to their new families. Watching each puppy develop their own unique personality is one of the greatest joys of our lives, and we take pride in raising puppies who are ready to be cherished companions from day one. Raising puppies is more than just a passion; it’s a labor of love. ❤️

A $300 deposit is required to reserve the puppy of your choice/certain puppy available if open when I start accepting deposits after a litter is born. Normally this is around 1 week old. Puppy applications have to be filled out, sent back to me and approved before I accept any deposits for waitlist/reservation of a puppy. Nothing else will be due as far as balance after reservation of puppy until it’s take home day and they are ready to leave with their forever families. Deposit to be placed on the waitlist is $100.
Each puppy includes the following:

Updated photos are now posted, and the babies are doing wonderfully! Next week will bring several exciting “firsts” — their first vet visit and car ride. It’s hard to believe how quickly time has passed, and that these sweet little ones will be ready to leave for their forever homes in just two weeks. While it’s always bittersweet to say goodbye, I love knowing they’ll get to celebrate their very first Thanksgiving surrounded by love. 🦃🥰🐶
Finn is still available for reservation at this time and looking for a forever family. He has a calm demeanor and loves to give puppy-breath kisses 😘

Litter update on 22 Oct. •
Beauty Queen (and Zeus) blessed us with 8 beautiful babies on Monday 10/20/25!! 🐾💕🥰🐶
Delivery started out perfectly, just as expected, but things took a little scary turn. She delivered six babies on her own without any issues, and then suddenly stalled. Of course, the worry set in because I could still feel movement and knew there were more little ones waiting.
I decided it was best to call our vet, and she met us there within 20 minutes. The X-ray confirmed two more puppies still needed to make their entrance. They gave her a shot of oxytocin to see if she could finish delivering naturally, and about 15 minutes later, the seventh tiny baby arrived safely! She was able to have one more dose of oxytocin, but after another 45 minutes, that last little one was still being stubborn, so we decided iy was safest to proceed with c-section. Turns out she was a chunky girl who had managed to wedge herself up between Beauty Queen’s upper ribs—it was definitely a challenge getting to her, but she finally came out squealing with the strongest lungs you’ve ever heard!
I am beyond grateful, because that’s not always the case when there’s a time gap like that. It was a very long and exhausting night, but worth every bit of it to ensure our precious girl and all her babies are healthy and safe. I always second-guess myself when I call the vet, thinking it might be too soon—but this time, it definitely wasn’t. 💕
All of these babies are ON HOLD (not available) at this time for our paid waitlist families. If you are one of those families, I’ll begin reaching out in one to two weeks once I’m sure all are healthy and thriving. There are several on my list as these babies will be ready just in time to spend their 1st Christmas with their forever families! ❤️

SURPRISE!!! Our sweet Myla is a trooper, and I’m incredibly proud of her! She delivered seven healthy puppies yesterday (three days early), and they are all doing great so far. She is so in love with them and one proud Mama!! Throughout the night, each puppy showed weight gain. With large litters like this, I always keep a close eye to ensure they are getting plenty of milk from Mom. If I notice any reason for concern or if one of the puppies starts to decline, our sweet Storme will be happy to take on a few extra puppies, along with her one little boy, to help Myla out. 💕
**All puppies are currently on hold for our waitlist families and NOT AVAILABLE at this time.**

Ashlee was amazing! She instantly felt like one of my besties! She was so nice and responded quickly. Our Lucy was on a plane (with a wonderful flight nanny that Ashlee set up for us)from TN to NY and in our arms in under 24 hours! What a wonderful experience. I would recommend her over and over again! If only my husband would let me adopt more doxies!

Ashlee made this whole adoption journey so smooth. From the moment we connected, Ashlee helped us learn more about the breed and the parents of available litters. She helped us to find the perfect baby girl to add to our family. We had over a month of waiting before the big day we picked her up, and Ashlee was always available to answer questions as we got ready. Each week she would send us new baby pictures of our little girl, and our family and young boys loved getting those photos as the time neared. The big day wenet so smoothly, and Ashlee had such a wonderful and complete bag of supplies to get us started. Even in the days and weeks after the adoption, Ashlee has always been there for us to help if we had questions. Thank you!!!

I had a wonderful experience working with Ashlee. From the very beginning, she was professional, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about her dogs. She kept me updated throughout the process, answered all of my questions with patience, and made sure I felt confident and prepared. It was clear that Harper was raised with love and care in a clean, nurturing environment. I couldn’t be happier with my pup and would highly recommend Ashlee to anyone looking for a responsible, caring breeder.

We had an outstanding experience working with Ashlee as the breeder of our dog, Mosley. From the start, she was incredibly communicative, promptly answering all of our questions with kindness and thoroughness. She kept us informed throughout the process, even sharing updates on Mosley’s doctor appointments, which reassured us that he was receiving excellent care.
One of the most thoughtful gestures was when Ashlee’s parents met us halfway for the pickup, making the transition seamless and convenient. Their generosity and dedication truly reflected the care they put into raising their puppies.
Ashlee’s professionalism, reliability, and genuine passion for her work made the entire process smooth and enjoyable. We couldn’t be happier with our experience and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible and caring breeder.

The whole experience was wonderful from start to finish!
