Meet the breeder

I'm Ashlee C., the breeder behind Double A. Doxies located in New Albany, MS. We take great pride in raising healthy, affectionate, and well-rounded puppies for families to love. Watching each one grow and develop their own unique personality brings us so much joy. We can’t wait for you to meet your next loyal companion—one that will fill your home with happiness, love, and plenty of tail wags for years to come. ❤️🐾.

Q. & A. with Ashlee

  • Why did you start breeding?

My love for the Dachshund breed began when I was just three years old. I grew up with two miniature shorthairs named Ginger and Gretchen. Ginger was a smooth coat red, and Gretchen was a smooth coat black and tan. Both were intelligent, loyal, and the heart of our family. Ginger especially loved when I would blow bubbles for her—she would chase them endlessly, determined to catch one. Growing up with Dachshunds gave me the desire to pass that same bond and joy on to my own children. In 2010, when my husband and I bought our first home, we finally had the freedom to choose any pet we wanted without needing a landlord’s permission. My husband was always more of a “big dog guy”—until January 2011, when we brought home our first Dachshund, Hank. He was truly one of a kind and filled our home with love for 12 wonderful years. We lost him in November 2022, just one day after his 12th birthday, due to health issues and old age. His memory will always hold a special place in our hearts. I am a licensed cosmetologist and have done hair on and off for the past 12 years, while focusing most of my time on raising our children. My husband has owned and operated his flooring business since right out of high school, and we’ve been blessed to watch it grow over the years. In 2016, after a second high-risk pregnancy, I officially became a full-time stay-at-home mom. That’s when we decided to expand our family—with more Dachshunds, of course! By 2019, our home was full of wagging tails, wet noses, and endless love. Over the years, we’ve raised puppies who have gone on to join families in New York, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, Florida, Louisiana, Ohio, Kentucky, South Carolina, and many other states. Our commitment doesn’t stop at our front door. My parents are a huge part of our journey as well. My dad, a retired truck driver of 17 years, and my mom help us safely deliver puppies to their new homes, no matter the distance. They also share our love for the breed as they have two of their own—Rudy and Dixie . Dixie is one of our retired moms from Double A Doxies, making this passion truly a family affair. Every puppy we raise is loved, spoiled, and cared for until they are placed into the arms of their forever families. Dachshunds are more than just dogs to us—they’re family. At Double A Doxies, our goal is to give other families the same joy, love, and loyalty that this amazing breed has given us for generations. ❤️
  • What makes your program special?

All of our puppies are lovingly raised inside our home as part of our family. From the very first day, they are nurtured with gentle handling, daily interaction, and plenty of affection to help them grow into happy, confident, and well-adjusted dogs. Our children, my husband and I spend countless hours socializing the puppies—introducing them to new sights, sounds, and experiences—so that they are ready to transition smoothly into their forever homes. Throughout their time with us, each puppy receives individualized attention, plenty of playtime, and early training to encourage good behavior and healthy habits. By the time they leave us at 8 weeks old, they are not only healthy and happy, but also pre-spoiled, loved, and ready to bring joy to their new families. Watching each puppy develop their own unique personality is one of the greatest joys of our lives, and we take pride in raising puppies who are ready to be cherished companions from day one. Raising puppies is more than just a passion; it’s a labor of love. ❤️

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include cream, brindle, blue and cream, fawn (isabella) and cream, chocolate and cream, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

“All of our parents are fully health and genetic tested before any pairing is done. A $400.00 deposit is required to reserve the puppy of your choice/certain puppy available if open when I start accepting deposits after a litter is born. Normally this is around 1 week old. Puppy applications have to be filled out, sent back to me and approved before I accept any deposits for waitlist/reservation of a puppy. Nothing else will be due as far as balance after reservation of puppy until it’s take home day and they are ready to leave with their forever families. Deposit to be placed on my paid waitlist is $300.00 Each puppy includes the following: - folder with all papers from vet checkup, QR codes for all of my favorite things to help you prepare from Amazon, etc. - Up to date vaccinations All puppies are seen at 7/8 weeks by our licensed veterinarian for his/her overall checkup before leaving us with their families. This includes fecal exam to check for any parasites, listening to check for any abnormalities such as heart murmurs, checks for umbilical hernias (I always notice this within the first couple of weeks and notify families right away), and weight checks. Puppies will receive their first and second puppy vaccinations before leaving. One is given at 6 weeks of age and the 2nd is given at 8 weeks. They will have proof of vaccinations in their folders as well as stickers from the shot vials with serial numbers. Although they aren’t completely protected until all four puppy shots have been complete all of my puppies are vaccinated one week prior to vet check-ups to give them some protection should they be exposed to parvovirus or anything else. - Regularly dewormed every 2 weeks - A shot and deworming record - 3 year heart, liver, & kidney guarantee - 72 (business) hour vet guarantee - Started on potty pad training from 3 weeks until time to leave us - Small container of Royal Canin puppy dry kibble - Small bag of treats - Toys - Blanket (with Mommy and siblings scent to help make the transition to their forever home as easy as possible) - Training Pads -puppy nail clippers All of my puppies that are sold as pet/companion only and go home on a spay/neuter contract. In the rare event that an unforeseen circumstance occurs with a puppy while in our care, your deposit may be transferred to a future puppy of your choice. While this situation is extremely uncommon, some things are simply beyond our control. We are committed to providing the highest level of care for our puppies during the time they are with our family. ♥️.”

Ashlee was amazing from start to finish! Everything went smoothly with her and she provided us with all documentation! My wife and I love our Daisy so so much. She’s the smartest and most loving fur baby ever. She’s been one of our greatest joys! We can’t thank Ashlee enough!

Ashlee was very kind, communicative, and gave us the most perfect, healthy little boy. You can tell that she and her family deeply care about what they do and each little puppy. We 100% recommend working with her!

Ashlee and Paris were a wonderful experience. They were patient, understanding, and accommodating. We had a small hiccup before receiving our little Kiki, but it all ended up all working out and we are so happy with how everything turned out. Kiki is goofy and loving. She’s so friendly and a wonderful personality for sure. Our family loves her so much. We are so grateful for Double A. Doxies!!

Ashlee was the most amazing and trustworthy breeder we could have worked with. We absolutely love our puppy Simba (formerly Brooks). He came pre loved by Ashley and her family and is fitting into our little family seamlessly. Not only were we kept in the loop from the moment we first made contact with Ashlee about our pup, but our vet PRAISED our Simba’s records, quality of vaccinations, and quality of deworming he came with. Ashlee was there before and after we got Simba for anything we needed. He is healthy, the CUTEST, and thriving, and that all starts with Ashlee. Her and her family truly care about these pups and we whole heartedly recommend working with her- even if you have to wait :)

Ashlee and Paris were great throughout! We heard about Ashlee from an AKC event. With us being first-time dog owners, Ashlee has made the process so much easier for us. She sent us pictures frequently with updates. We just wrapped our first vet visit and even the vet was complimenting Ashlee for how well a job she had done with how good the condition our baby’s at and all the necessary documentations provided. We can tell that Ashlee truly cares about the puppies and spent a lot of time and effort on giving them the best start. We are so lucky to have our baby and especially getting her from Ashlee!

Ashlee was great throughout the whole process! Super friendly and knowledgeable! She updated with pictures and videos of my puppy! I can’t recommend her enough! Remi formally known as Fin is so wonderful! His temperament is beyond what I expected. You can tell he was loved and cared before he came to his forever home! I honestly can’t say enough good things about Ashlee and Little Remi! I would recommend her a 100 times over! Thank you so much!
