I'm Joanna F., the breeder behind Double Dare Shelties located in Abilene, TX. Double Dare Shelties is a small breeding program. We only have 1 to 2 litters per year which allows me to devote my full attention to each litter. Each breeding pair (Dam & Sire) is carefully selected to uphold the AKC breed standard and have completed all recommended health testing.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I spend a immense amount of time and effort socializing each puppy to reinforce a confident, well balanced temperament. Our program uses "Empowered Breeder" conditioning methods.

  • What makes your program special?

    Puppies are exposed to ENS (early neurological stimulation) and scent exposure at the appropriate age. Puppies are litter box trained, doggy door trained, exposed to leash training, nail care, grooming and are raised in my home with constant exposure to friends and family.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Joanna partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

“Price is determined by parent's pedigree and registration status. After puppy is selected and agreement is signed, buyer must pay a $400 deposit. Selections begin around 6-8 week of age.”
