Miniature American Shepherd
About Q
Q is an AKC/UKC Miniature American Shepherd, cross-registered with ASDR as a Mini Australian Shepherd. This is my own personal medical alert dog, capable of identifying alerting to an anaphylactic or asthma attack several minutes before I recognize the symptoms myself (allowing me to access and use rescue medication before symptoms become dangerous). In addition to his excellent observational skills, he's an intensely intelligent dog whose understanding of language is unparalleled. He has sporty, agile build and a gentle spirit -- in addition to working as a service dog, he also watches over a small flock of chickens and helps bring them in and out of their yard each day. Q imparts all of his intelligence and beauty to his pups, but leaves their size up to mom! His father was classified as toy-sized and his mother was also a small mini (under ~15") but he stood head and shoulders over all his siblings. So his first litter of pups (with the larger Skunk-bo) ranged from 25-55lbs as adults, pretty neatly spanning the range between his size and the mother's size. His pups with the smaller Ashi are likely to likewise range in weight from her size to his (15-30lbs).

About Skunkbo
Skunkbo and her pups are UKC registered as Miniature American Shepherds and she is cross-registered with the AKC and ASDR as Australian Shepherds. She's just under 18", with striking crystal clear eyes, and a softly curly ebony coat. She has a muscular and heavily-boned build, but a extremely laid back for her breed — she's smart and easily trained, but perfectly happy to just spend all day cuddling and doing caregiving. Most importantly, she has the ideal "emotional intelligence" for her job as a task-trained disability and autism support dog whose jobs include providing full body contact for anxiety attacks and meltdowns, and "bracing" to assist in wheelchair transfers. She loves hard full-body hugs and excels at climbing onto laps and giving full-body contact while being very careful to avoid causing injury or pain to a physically fragile person. Skunkbo also adores cats, and actually works as a team with our resident barnyard cats to hunt any rodents that dare go after the chicken coops or sheds. Skunkbo does tends to be reserved towards strangers and protective of her home, flock, and handler. She's responsible for the welfare of every living being in the house, and she takes this seriously. Both Skunkbo and her pups tend to have the traditional "shepherd" approach to humans: they keep a careful eye on strangers, but are very gentle and nurturing towards people and dogs that they already know and can easily be trained to do "greet" and "trust" on command. This introverted trait does need to be managed appropriately with training and lifestyle choices -- with training they do amazingly with public access and make ideal handler-focused service dogs who excel in task training, dog sports, and obedience. They're not social butterflies, but given clear instructions and expectations they easily navigate social events. Regardless of training, they are generally not going to enjoy dog parks or "therapy dog" type work where they're expected to welcome handsy strangers (even if they learn to tolerate it). Generally they feel better if they're crated when guests come over (at least until they've been introduced). They should be allowed to retreat from chaotic social functions, especially ones involving large flocks of unfamiliar children or drunks.... even if they can be trained to ignore the festivities, they usually won't like them. IMHO, the strong desire to be a guardian and "assistant manager" should be appreciate as a breed trait, as it's perfect for people who want a handler-focused dog who will have their back in a pinch.

About Ashi
Our "Itsy Bitsy Ashi" is 12" and ~14 lbs of pure resilience, love, and high octane energy. She came to us from a kennel-based breeder who was shutting down their program, and quickly adjusted to having a more dog-centered, family-style life. She's undergone comprehensive health and wellness checks and passed them all with flying colors: full panel clear!

My experience and interaction with M. Jordan made me feel confident and comfortable with getting one of their puppies. They were responsive in a timely manner, very knowledgeable, kind, and answered every question I had about their dogs and the breed! They helped in picking the right puppy for me and my needs! I know that if I have any questions moving forward that they are their to help me if they can! I would recommend them and their puppies to anyone who is looking for this breed! I am beyond happy with my puppy, Greta, now called Myla. She fits perfectly into our family, and has become my best friend. I am excited for our journey together. She is smart, a good temperament, and just an all around sweet girl. We are working on training her to be my ESA! I am so happy with my puppy and cant wait to see the dog she becomes! 💖

We had a great experience and highly recommend Jordan. We saw Berlin (our new puppy) and contacted Jordan, who responded right away and answered all of our questions. Luckily, Jordan lives close by so she was able to bring Berlin over to meet our family. It is obvious that Jordan really cares about the puppies and does everything she can to make the transition easier for them. Berlin has settled right in as part of our family, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience with a breeder. Thanks so much!

Working with Double Moon was AMAZING! I grew up around rescue dogs and my fiancé has never had a dog before. We decided to add a new addition to our family and came across Double Moon. Whenever we had a question or needed clarification on something she helped us out (since it is our first dog we were super nervous on what to do/ look for). We have had Zoey now for 7 weeks and she is very spoiled, SUPER smart, beautiful with her expressive ears, LOVES the beach/pool (she has a life vest on) and has been a sweetheart to every person/animal she has come near. Thank you Double Moon!

My experience with Double Moon was amazing to say the least. I'm going to be 18 in March (yay an adult) I have many invisible disabilities so I've been researching about service dogs and getting a puppy and the right breed. I have always loved Aussies, my uncle has one and one of my friends dad has an Miniature American Shepherd as a therapy dog. I chose M. Jordan because of both the dam and sire being service dogs and how knowledgeable she was and gave me information which I didn't even know. She helped me learn more about the breed and was with me every step when picking out my service dog prospect, I have my amazing pup currently who was (Gotham) renamed Tiramisu. I've had dogs in the past but she has been the easiest to train so far and I hope we continue to improve together.

I couldn't have chose a better breeder to my two boys from. She was calm, patient, responsive, informative, and everything else you could possibly want out of someone giving you a forever friend. I can't thank her enough for helping me choose the additions to my growing family.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing Experience with Double Moon! I recently got my Miniature American Shepard (HELO) from Double Moon and Jordan, and I couldn't be happier with the entire process! From the first point of contact, she was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the Miniature American Shepard (Mini Australian). Jordan took the time to answer all of my questions, providing me with detailed information on the breed, the parents, and the puppies' upbringing. It was clear that Jordan prioritizes the health and well-being of the dogs above all else. The puppies were socialized and happy, and you could tell they had been raised with love and attention. What stood out most was Jordan's transparency and commitment to responsible breeding. The health screenings and certifications were provided, and she made sure the puppy came with a clean bill of health. I was also given plenty of guidance on how to care for my new puppy, and has been available for any follow-up questions I've had since bringing Helo home. I highly recommend Jordan to anyone looking for a well-bred, healthy, and happy puppy. It’s clear that [she takes immense pride in what they do, and I couldn’t be more grateful for my new furry family member! Thank you, Double Moon!
