Down South Dachshunds is a small, dedicated breeding program focused on producing healthy, well-socialized Dachshunds with exceptional temperament. Since 2015, we’ve prioritized responsible breeding, quality care, and placing puppies in carefully selected homes.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I started breeding in 2015 after graduating from veterinary technician school, combining my passion for dogs with my knowledge of animal health. What began as an interest quickly grew into a dedicated breeding program.

  • What makes your program special?

    What sets my breeding program apart is a combination of veterinary knowledge, experience since 2015, and a hands-on, quality-focused approach to raising healthy, well-socialized Dachshunds.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include longhaired and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include piebald, red, wild boar, fawn (isabella) and tan, chocolate and tan, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Amanda

Amanda has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Amanda partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $3,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Puppy pricing varies and is based on quality and pairing. At Down South Dachshunds, we are committed to responsible breeding and raising well-rounded puppies wether it be CKC or AKC! A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a puppy. This deposit is applied toward the final price and secures your selection. We prioritize serious inquiries and carefully matched homes.”

Contract & health guarantee

Amanda may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
