I'm Catherine T., the breeder behind Doxie Lakes located in New Brighton, MN. I have a simple, family-run breeding program offering loving and loyal companions to others. It is a labor of love and a rewarding ministry to provide happy, thriving, well socialized puppies for their furever new owners. My doxies are a part of my family and I love them dearly. They are all AKC registered.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I found it difficult to find AKC miniature dachshunds in our area and decided to start family breeding them to help provide awesome doxies to others who are looking for them. It has been very fulfilling to successfully prepare our puppies to go to homes and live their best lives.

  • What makes your program special?

    I believe in family raised puppies & being retired I can give them 24/7 love & care. I shed tears when they drive off (once 2 flew off) to live with their new owners. I work toward meeting/communicating with prospective owners to look for a good fit for both the pups as well as their potential humans. It is an important decision to adopt a puppy.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include longhaired, wirehaired, and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include red, chocolate, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Catherine

Catherine has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Catherine partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $400 non-refundable deposit and between $1,800 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes AKC registration paper, puppy food, vet/immunization record, adoption certificate w puppy pictures, going home blanket w familiar smells that help with adjustment in new home. Deposits are preferred. There are situations where payment in full when picking up the puppy can be an option.”

    Catherine was absolutely amazing to work with. She sent regular updates on how the puppies were doing. Since we were nearby, I was even able to visit the puppy when they were starting to open their eyes. She was able to answer questions that I had about the puppy.
