We are a small, in-home breeder specializing in miniature dachshunds, passionate about raising top-quality puppies focusing on health, temperament, and early socialization. Our mission is to provide well-adjusted, affectionate companions that bring lasting joy and love.   • Why did you start breeding?

    I’ve always had a deep love for dogs—four-legged companions have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As I approach retirement, I’ve found more time to dedicate to caring for these wonderful animals who are not just pets, but cherished members of the family. This new chapter allows me to share that joy by helping bring loving, well-raised puppies into the lives of other families.

  • What makes your program special?

    At Dragonfly Doxies, each of our adult dogs undergoes Embark genetic testing and will receive OFA health clearances at the appropriate ages. Our dogs are truly part of the family—they live in our home, enjoy daily interaction with our grandchildren, and are raised with plenty of outdoor playtime, a nutritious diet, and an abundance of love and attention.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include fawn (isabella), blue and tan, fawn (isabella) and tan, chocolate and cream, chocolate and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Abby

Abby has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Abby partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We take great care in placing each puppy with the right family. As puppies grow, their personalities and temperaments begin to emerge around 7–8 weeks of age. Through our daily interactions with them, we’re able to observe these traits and help guide each family in finding the best match for their home and lifestyle.”

Puppy prices include a $750 non-refundable deposit and between $1,250 - $3,250 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“This price includes limited health guarantee, AKC Registration, age appropriate vaccines and vet care and puppy socialization. Note that all deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred to a future litter if needed.”

Dragonfly Doxies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Dachshunds.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    We had the best experience working with Abby from Dragonfly Doxies! We happened to meet another family that had adopted from a previous litter and learned about them. After submitting our application, Abby reached out and we were able to set up a FaceTime with the adorable little guy that we were hoping to adopt! It was clear right away, that these puppies are well cared for and loved up until the point they go home. We were able to get updates and pictures each week. When we picked Gary up, he was just perfect and the transition home has gone very well. Abby did a great job exposing him to different sounds and activities. He is now learning all about his new home and seems very comfortable. We are so happy we found Abby and Dragonfly Doxies. We would highly recommend working with Abby!
