Q. & A. with Valentine (He/Him)
Why did you start breeding?
I have always been interested in breeding, but my passion really took off when Darry sired his first litter in 2021. Years of studying Collie history and health led me to what I feel is my calling: ensuring the future of this incredible breed through outcrossing in order to introduce significantly more genetic diversity than average in my own line of Collies.
What makes your program special?
Our breeding dogs are beloved companions that have been carefully selected to be as healthy, friendly, and close to classic Collies as possible! We acquire CHIC recommended health tests for their breed(s) and follow Avidog’s comprehensive programs, ensuring the highest standard of care. Collies are in desperate need of increased genetic diversity and our program meets this need.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our Companion Cross puppies include medium and large sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our Companion Cross puppies have long coats. Collie puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

SQL, our keeper from our recent outcross litter, has been doing great in his weekly outings and puppy classes. He’s learned a lot the past few weeks and is blossoming into a social, confident puppy who loves playing with friends in class and enjoys meeting new people. He loves to learn and his enthusiasm makes training fun for us, too!

About Darry
Darry is our loyal and devoted companion. His self-appointed job is making sure everyone feels the love! His favorite activity is cuddling between his people, and he also enjoys a gentle game of tug-of-war fetch. He has been lovely to every person, child, and animal he’s ever met (except for squirrels).
Darry is highly intelligent and obedient, and loves to learn new things.
Darry has sired two beautiful litters for Romany Collies who are also dearly beloved companions, and one of his daughters is a successful working Service Dog. We’re excitedly planning his next litter and hoping to keep a son or daughter from him to carry on his wonderful temperament.

Wonderful from start to finish. Very honest and responsible breeders. Answered all my questions and concerns, and stayed on the phone with me until they were sure Lilah came home safe and was doing well. I am very happy with my experience with Valentine. I do recommend. Lilah came beautifully well cared. Today she is 7 months old, and she is sweet, really smart and funny. I love her so so much. Thank you!

We couldn't be happier that we grabbed our pair, Tehani and Kaimana, through Valentine's breeding program! They are both such little lights and are funny, smart, loving and some of the best pups we've ever owned.
This is Amanda's first time in picking her own dogs in her adult life and keeping the spirit of her mom alive, she wanted to go for a sibling pair, just like her parents had growing up. We were also looking to add to our pack after recently losing some heart dogs, too 🩷
We really resonated with Valentine's vision and mission for their breeding program-- so we chanced an application in for one (Hani) and walked away last minute too, with two (Kai)!
They were already pretty socialized (the program this breeder does is fantastic at exposing their puppies to various instances of noise, objects, scents, etc) and picking them up was easy (we GREATLY appreciated the puppy baskets, the brushes and everything we use weekly).
Overall, I couldn't recommend them enough-- quality dogs, healthy and beautiful, a great environment they were raised in with love and beautiful parents. Everything just aligned perfectly, thank you again Valentine-- we can't wait to raise them up more and enjoy their lives to the fullest!
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
