I'm Cheryl M., the breeder behind Dry Creek Dachshunds located in Greenbrier, TN. My passion is the Dachshund Miniature Wirehair. My priority is preservation breeding for conformation, performance, and companion. I strive to make sure every owner has the ability to get the very best out of their puppy.
Q. & A. with Cheryl
Why did you start breeding?
I love Dachshunds and wanted sound and healthy dogs. I researched and studied Dachshund's history and pedigrees. I then became involved in local dog clubs and worked with several mentors to develop my program.
What makes your program special?
I only breed AKC Champions and my dogs are health tested before breeding. All puppies are vaccinated and wormed as required. I also microchip all puppies and they are prepaid AKC registered. I prefer to keep my puppies until the age of twelve weeks. All puppies are examined by a veterinarian before going to their new family. I also offer a health guarantee replacement.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include smooth and wirehaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Cheryl has a true passion for her dogs! She puts much effort into assuring their health, safety and well-being, which makes for great dogs. Our dog, who was 17 months old when we got him, was as Cheryl described him, only better! Working with Cheryl was an absolute pleasure.

I cannot say enough in praise of Dry Creek Kennel and Cheryl. We talked on the phone and I learned enough to know, not only was she a skilled and meticulous breeder, but also a loving dachshund Mom. We made the trip from Central Illinois to near Memphis Tennessee to adopt our sweet Honey.
Cheryl spent hours with us so Honey could become comfortable. She shared so much knowledge and even packed a goody bag with Honeys favorite food and treats. She has been in contact several times to make certain we were all doing well. I can’t imagine a better experience or a better person to deal with! Thank you
Cheryl , with all my heart.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
