I'm Megan D., the breeder behind Duncan’s Miniature Australian Shepherds located in Watson, LA. Duncan’s Miniature Australian Shepherds is dedicated to breeding well-structured, healthy dogs that bring joy to their families. Our dogs and puppies are raised in our home as cherished members of our family, ensuring they are well-socialized and loved from the very beginning.
All of our breeding dogs undergo thorough health testing and receive the highest standard of care. We raise our puppies using Puppy Culture protocols to support their development, confidence, and social skills. Each puppy follows a two-week deworming schedule, receives two rounds of vaccinations, and comes with a comprehensive health guarantee.
Q. & A. with Megan
Why did you start breeding?
My journey began when I brought home a backyard-bred puppy who, while deeply cherished, faced significant medical challenges. That experience inspired my passion to truly understand the Miniature Australian Shepherd breed and dedicate myself to responsible, health-focused breeding. With years of experience working in veterinary medicine, I have gained extensive knowledge in animal care, reproduction, and health management. My goal is to raise awareness about the potential health issues dogs can face and to emphasize the importance of health testing and ethical breeding practices.
What makes your program special?
care deeply for every puppy I raise. Each one is brought up in my home, receiving the highest level of veterinary care, socialization, and daily love as if they were my own. Every dog from my program will always have a home here—no matter the circumstance, they are welcome back for life.
I also value lasting connections with my puppy families. New owners are always encouraged to reach out for guidance, support, or simply to share updates as their puppy grows.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blue merle, black tri, red tri, and red merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
