Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding through my deep love for dachshunds and my passion for learning about the breed. What started with one special dog quickly turned into years of researching health, genetics, structure, and responsible breeding practices. Duval Doxies was created out of a desire to raise healthy, loving dachshunds who are family-first and lifelong companions.What makes your program special?
At Duval Doxies, our dogs are family first. We focus on health, temperament, structure, and ethical breeding practices while raising our puppies inside our home with children, love, and daily socialization. We are committed to health testing, transparency, and producing beautiful miniature dachshunds that thrive as lifelong companions.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include cream, chocolate, blue and tan, chocolate and tan, black and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Getting a puppy from Sierra
Sierra has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
“Pet pricing ranges from $2,000–$3,000 depending on pairing, coat, color, and pedigree. Puppies are raised in our home with love and socialization. A $300 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a puppy once selections begin. Deposits are applied toward the final balance. We do not accept deposits until puppies are thriving and at least 3 weeks old.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Parent health testing
Excellent level
Duval Doxies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Dachshunds.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
