Meet the breeder

I'm Sarah L., the breeder behind Dyer Lake Newfoundland’s located in Falmouth, MI. We specialize in family Raised AKC/OFA Newfoundlands. They are thoroughly health tested bloodlines. We have generations of health clearances and titles.

Q. & A. with Sarah

  • Why did you start breeding?

I grew up with Newfoundlands. My family owned them when I was a kid. My father was in the Coast Guard and he would always talk about the Newfoundlands on the ship. I would listen to his stories about the Newfoundlands being the first ones on the ship when the bell rang. I grew up with two amazing Newfoundlands named Dark Angel and Demi. They watched over our family.
  • What makes your program special?

We breed for health and temperament. We thoroughly test our line with OFA, PennHip, DDC, PawPrint genetics, and GenSol. Our puppies are cardiac cleared at 10 weeks. We have generations of health clearances.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Cavapoo puppies are toy size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Newfoundland puppies include white and black, black, brown, and gray. Cavapoo puppies include blenheim and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Merry Christmas Sarah! Everything is going well with Tank. We crate him at night and allow him to have the first floor of the house. We’ve made progress with potty training and we have secured a trainer. She’s been here once and will be here again this Friday ( 27 th ). Tank is a fast learner and you’re right he’s treat motivated. We love having him. ( he has the run of first floor during the day). Also, Tank is eating the same food as when he was with you. Keep in touch, Barbara
