Q. & A. with Kimberly

  • Why did you start breeding?

Our journey with Boykins began in 2020 when my husband found Beaux, our male Boykin Spaniel. I had asked for a smaller dog—we had always owned Golden Retrievers, and while I didn’t want another Golden, he didn’t want a small “yappy” dog either. We discovered a wonderful breeder and brought Beaux home, and he quickly stole our hearts. He was everything we could have hoped for—smart, loving, loyal, and eager to learn. A year later, I knew our family wasn’t complete without another Boykin, and that is when Kenzi joined us. Kenzi is my Emotional Support Dog and has completed the required training and documentation. She has been an incredible blessing in my life. My husband, Scott, had always dreamed of owning an English Springer Spaniel, so I surprised him with one for our 20th anniversary. He was born on President’s Day, so Lincoln felt like the perfect name. From that moment on, we were truly hooked on both breeds. Boykins and Springers share many similarities, yet each brings something unique and special. What I love most is that every dog has their own individual personality, and discovering who they are is one of my greatest joys. The decision to pursue breeding was not made lightly. I spoke extensively with my veterinarian, spent countless hours researching, and sought guidance from experienced breeders. I’m a small family breeder who takes this very seriously. I spend a lot of time learning, researching, and health testing because doing right by my dogs and the breed truly matters to me. I am deeply passionate about my dogs—some might even say a little obsessed, in the very best way. My commitment will always be, first and foremost, to the well-being of my dogs, followed by bettering the breed and raising exceptional puppies. It is my goal to provide families with high-quality, health-tested, intelligent, well-tempered, and beautiful English Springer Spaniels and Boykin Spaniels that will become cherished members of their homes.
  • What makes your program special?

We hope to encourage other breeders and positively influence families through our puppies, because we’ve seen firsthand the life-changing impact a dog can have.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Boykin Spaniel puppies include chocolate and liver. English Springer Spaniel puppies include tri-roan, liver white and roan, white and black, black and white, red and white, liver white and tan, and black white and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
