I'm Mary H., the breeder behind EarlyUp Australian Shepherds located in Mattawan, MI. Dogs are my passion with a focus on the beautiful and intelligent Australian Shepherd. We breed Aussies that conform to the AKC standard with only the very best temperaments. We strive for success in the show ring but most importantly, for Aussies that are wonderful family companions.

What makes your program special?
Our dogs are home raised and we breed very selectively for our next show dog. Temperament is number one in our program as we want the dogs we place in family homes, to have the best temperaments.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red merle, blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Mary has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

“This price includes a 3 year health guarantee (contract) first set of shots, veterinary examination, worming, AKC and ASCA registration. Puppies sold as family companions are sold on AKC and ASCA limited registration. All our puppies are priced the same no matter color, sex or show prospect. We do require a non refundable $500 deposit.”

Parent health testing
Excellent level

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
DNA Disease Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
