I'm Renee H., the breeder behind Eastern Long Island Shih Tzu located in Riverhead, NY. We are a small, family-run, home-based Shih Tzu breeding program. Our goal is to raise happy, healthy, purebred AKC Shih Tzus with loving temperaments. Breeding is recreational yet responsible, focused on quality, health, and socialization rather than volume.

  • What makes your program special?

    Family-run, home-based Shih Tzu breeder raising AKC purebred puppies with love and care. Our mom and dad live with us, fully part of our family, and all puppies are handled from birth — even by our twin 4-year-olds! Health, temperament, and socialization are our top priorities.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include chocolate, tricolor, black, blue and white, black and white, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Renee

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,650 - $2,200 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes AKC registration paperwork, first round of vaccinations, deworming, health certificate from my vet. All of our puppies are the same price regardless of color or size.”

Contract & health guarantee

Renee may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
