Q. & A. with Whitney
Why did you start breeding?
Back in 2020, before I knew better I got a very byb border collies who ended up suffering from genetic issues at 4 months old and I sadly lost her 2 months later. I vowed that I would become a breeder where no one would have to go through what I went through and put Health at the top of my list.
What makes your program special?
I aim to add to the breed wherever it needs it, more grit? We will add it. More bidability to this line? We will add that. We aim to make sure these dogs can both do the job intended and also be a really fun and versatile sport dog as well.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Flare
Flare is a gritty, cattlexsheep line border collie. She is extremely silly, intelligent and drivey girl.
Dock diving and fastcat are her absolute favorite things in the entire world. She can be very clingy to her people and independent all in one. Shes perfectly happy to go play sports, train, tug, or lay on the couch and snuggle into you.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Excellent level
EbbnFlow Border Collies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Border Collies.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA), Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
