I'm Stacy + Evan T., the breeder behind Edgewood Farm Kennel located in Apex, NC. We take great pride in our dogs, our puppies, and our program. We are dedicated to raising the bar for thoughtful breeding with optimal health in mind. We do our best to produce puppies that have the best chance at living long, happy, and healthy lives as your best friend!
Q. & A. with Stacy + Evan
Why did you start breeding?
As we stated above we are life long “dog people” and fourth generation dogshow handlers, breeders and enthusiasts. As children we were raised with a Labrador around as our family pets so we knew when we had children that Labradors were the breed we needed to always have as our family dog.
What makes your program special?
There is a ultimate importance when we are given the task of giving someone a new lifelong family member. The best way is to give the best foundation…..and we don’t take that responsibility lightly. We want to place puppies that have a foundation to do whatever life decides. We are humbled and grateful you have given us that opportunity.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Parent health testing
Edgewood Farm Kennel reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Labrador Retrievers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
