Q. & A. with Abbie

  • Why did you start breeding?

OUR MISSION Anyone who has ever experienced the amazing love of a pet knows that the connection is sacred. Over the years there have been many amazing breeds of dogs who have been a part of our family. Looking for a new connection, we researched the Standard Poodle and Doodle breeds. After bringing home our 3 Standard Poodle females and Golden Doodle male pups in the summer of 2019, we quickly knew these breeds were for us. We have developed a true admiration for these dogs' athleticism intelligence and beauty. The Standard Poodles reputation as a foo-foo breed is so far from the truth. They are made for life on the farm, long hikes, water-loving fun, and couch snuggling! Add to that the benefits of the Doodles lovable compatibility and you have the perfect match! At Elevated Standards, we are committed to being responsible breeders who are committed to maintaining the integrity and our lines while matching our puppies with loving, forever homes.

  • What makes your program special?

We are a small family breeder who specializes in raising well adjust, highly socialized and health tested family companions.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Poodle puppies are standard size. Goldendoodle puppies are standard size. Bernedoodle puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Poodle puppies are parti. Goldendoodle puppies include cream and black. Bernedoodle puppies include tri-color and phantom. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Working with Abbie was an absolutely wonderful experience. She responded within minutes when I first reached out, and we were able to set up a video call the very same day. That’s when I met and chose my sweet little puppy. The deposit and payment process was simple and stress‑free, and Abbie stayed in touch every single week with photo and video updates until it was time to bring our little fella home. Even after pickup, she continued checking in to make sure everything was going smoothly. I would highly recommend Abbie to anyone looking for a caring, responsive, and trustworthy breeder.

We adopted Duncan (formerly Sparky) from Abbie and her family one week ago today. Let me just start to say that our puppy and our entire experience working with Abbie was a DREAM! We had three dogs at the beginning of this year. We lost one dog in March and had a sick 12 year old, plus a 7 year old who had never really lived as the only dog. We knew that we were in the market for a Bernedoodle, but agreed that we would wait for the right dog from the right breeder, rather than rushing into anything. We found Elevated Standards through Good Dog and immediately knew they were the breeder we were looking for. Our Duncan is the sweetest boy. He’s so cute and fun. Abbie offered to FaceTime with us to pick out our boy and then gave us weekly updates until we brought him home. We realized on the car ride home that Abbie had already been working with him on potty training—form day 1 that we got him, he has gone as soon as his feet touched grass. We couldn’t believe a 7 week old puppy could be so good! He has also don’t wonderfully in his crate, so it’s clear that she worked with him on that as well. She was so sweet, and you can tell that she and her family loved on our boy from Day 1. I couldn’t recommend a breeder more!

Abbie was amazing to work with! She was very responsive which brought us peace of mind. She gave us all the information about our sweet girls parents, pictures of siblings and of Lady. We are extremely grateful of them meeting us part way and cutting a couple hours off of our drive time! Lady has integrated well with her new brother (our Maine Coon) and we cant wait for all her shots to be done so she can join us for walks on our neighborhood beach! All in all, couldn’t speak higher of Abbie & elevated standards.
