I'm Julie W., the breeder behind Emerald Eire Dobermanns located in Decatur, AZ. We strive to produce active show or sport prospects for loving and caring homes. As you consider one of our dogs, I would ask: why are you interested in a Doberman and can you properly care for this active breed and satisfy all of their needs?

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I wanted to continue a working line, but bring in more conformation/structure without compromising health or increasing genetic health risk. I wanted to keep workability and grace and yet keep the edge and protective nature my breed is known for.

  • What makes your program special?

    I feel that I bring a lot to the table as a Board Licensed Veterinary Technician, Professional Behavioral Consultant, and Fear Free Certified Professional. I can implement all aspects of animal care and science as well as behaviorally assess and raise the pups to ensure the best fit and recommendations for home life. This breed is not for everyone and I have many requirements in my contract.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black and rust, blue and rust, and red and rust. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Julie

Julie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Julie partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

“We start our puppy assessments from Day 1, but have a good idea which lifestyles will fit which pups by ages 6-8weeks and start matching puppies at that time. If we have multiple puppies that may match, we do allow owners to "pick" their collar color puppy based on the videos they see (unless local to Phoenix), but we pride ourselves in matching pups with owners for a lifelong fit. ”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Full Embark Panel, Malignant Hyperthermia (MH), Juvenile Dilated Cardiomyopathy, von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I)
