  • Why did you start breeding?

    With my first show-quality female, I became dedicated to improving the Yorkshire Terrier breed. I strive to produce puppies that meet the breed standard in color and appearance. While not all my breeding dogs are titled, they are champion sired and fit the breed standard. I prioritize health testing for all my dogs to ensure quality and enhance the Yorkshire Terrier breed for future generations.

  • What makes your program special?

    All my breeding pairs are Embark and OFA tested and come from champion bloodlines. I offer both show-quality and pet-quality Yorkshire Terriers. The mother undergoes essential testing, including progesterone and brucellosis tests, followed by ultrasound and X-ray to confirm pregnancy. She is treated like family, and we prioritize quality over quantity to ensure the best for our puppies & families.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are blue and gold. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Gracie

Gracie has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Gracie partners with them to find the best puppy match.

"At Essence of Grace Yorkies, families are screened and approved before being matched with a puppy. We do not place puppies on a first-come, first-served basis. Each puppy is matched based on temperament, personality, structure, and overall lifestyle fit. Because we raise and evaluate our puppies for 12 weeks, final placement decisions are made by us in the best interest of the puppy to ensure a successful, lifelong match."

Puppy prices include a $500 deposit and between $3,400 - $4,315 final payment, before taxes & fees.

"Puppy prices vary by gender and include vaccinations, microchipping, and deworming. Show-quality prospects may be available at an additional cost. Reservation fee to hold a placement once puppies are 2 wks old. Applied to purchase price. Refundable if buyer cancels, minus documented expenses. Pickup required within go-home window."

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Brucellosis

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
