I'm Chad & Joni R., the breeder behind Ethan's Aussies located in Nashville, NC. Having an Aussie in our lives is such a blessing. We find so much fulfillment in providing that same companionship to other homes! We are home-based breeders dedicated to bringing healthy, loving, and high-quality Australian Shepherds into the homes and hearts of their forever families. We love our dogs and are passionate about raising our puppies to be the best family companions.
Q. & A. with Chad & Joni
Why did you start breeding?
Ethan begged us to get a mate for Levi during lockdown in 2020, so we found Elsie. We wanted to let Elsie get through for her first heat and then let her have her first litter. Ethan passed away just before her second heat so we decided to wait until the next. The litter was born on Ethan's 18th Birthday and first in heaven. They were all girls so we call them The Birthday Girls! Each of their "pawrents" have agreed to have one litter.
What makes your program special?
All of the profit from our puppies will go to EthanRobbinsFund.org and help kids attend the private Christian school that our boys attended. Each puppy is raised with us in our home or the home of a well vetted guardian home.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and between $800 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“The price includes the guarantee, puppy vaccinations and American Stock Dog Registration. We always send the puppies home with a blanket and toy that will have the smell of the litter. They will know simple commands like sit and stay and will have begun crate and potty training. Our Merles will cost more than our Tri's or Bi's. If you would like breeding rights, we can negotiate that.”

About Pecan
🐾 Meet Pecan! 🐾
With her striking ice-blue eyes and stunning white blaze and collar, Pecan turns heads wherever she goes! But it's her sweet, playful personality that truly steals hearts. Always up for an adventure, Pecan adores swimming, never turns down a ride (cars or golf carts—she loves them all!), and can usually be found carrying around her favorite toy. Fetch is her game, but what she loves most is simply being wherever her people are.
Whether it’s poolside or on a cozy couch, Pecan is happiest by your side—ready to brighten your day with unconditional love and joy.

Parent health testing
Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Ethan's Aussies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Australian Shepherds.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
