Meet the breeder

I'm Julie T., the breeder behind Exquisite Yorkies located in Bedias, TX. We are focused on bettering the breed and producing puppies that are healthy and well socialized from birth. We have had Yorkies for 25 years and are truly in love with the breed. All of our adult dogs and puppies are our family.

Q. & A. with Julie

  • Why did you start breeding?

We started breeding in 2014 with German Shepards after our dogs received their championships. In 2016 we decided to raise Yorkies since they are truly our favorite breed.
  • What makes your program special?

We take a holistic approach with our dogs. We use natural supplements and treatments to ensure they are healthy and as chemical-free as possible. We socialize puppies from birth so that they are ready for their new homes or the show ring!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include chocolate, tan and white, parti, black and tan, and black and gold. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Great level

Exquisite Yorkies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Yorkshire Terriers.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Brucellosis

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Coat/Trait Panel, Full Embark Panel

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
