Meet the breeder

I'm Rayanna B., the breeder behind Farmhouse Dachshunds located in Lewiston, ID. At the heart of my program is a deep commitment to raising healthy, confident, and well-rounded puppies. All of my puppies are raised in my home as part of the family, where they’re loved daily and included in our everyday routines. I follow a thorough, research-based curriculum designed to support each puppy’s development during their most critical early weeks. As our puppies grow, they’re introduced to a variety of people, animals, and environments to build confidence, trust and all around adaptability. My goal is to give each puppy the best possible foundation before going to their new home. Health, temperament, and structure are at the core of every breeding decision I make. All of my dogs are genetically health tested and cleared of inheritable conditions. My dogs are also OFA tested and CHIC certified according to breed-specific recommendations. I love my dachshunds and I take the responsibility of raising puppies estremely serious. We hold high standards as it is truly an honor to be able to live our lifes with these amazing dogs by our side. We are always learning how we can be better, do better, for the growth of our program and to enhance the well-being and quality of life of our personal pack and the puppies we raise!

Q. & A. with Rayanna

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have always wanted a Dachshund and after I got my first two babies, my love for the breed grew astronomically! I proceeded to learn everything I could about Dachshunds (their history, breed standards, common health issues, genetics), and the more I learned, the more I wanted to contribute to the quality of this wonderful breed! I then got involved in learning the process of ethically raising puppies on a curriculum and responsible breeding practices by taking classes like Breeders Bootcamp and Badass Breeders. I love continuing to learn and sharing the immense joy and love our dogs and puppies bring to our farm!
  • What makes your program special?

I put all my time, energy, and heart into my puppies and dogs. They are a vital part of our family! We worked hard to build our program and continue to grow and adapt our program for the best interest of our dogs and puppies. We ensure our pups find their forever families and offer a lifetime of our support! We are devoted to continuing our education, honoring our dogs, and empowering our puppies!

We feel all our puppies are worth the same investment regardless of these superficial characteristics! Holds can be placed when pups turn 4 weeks by placing a deposit.
