Soria is back in the Feywild. Sometimes, things just don’t work out, and while this wasn’t the outcome we hoped for, I’m thankful she’s back in my care where she can decompress, heal, and move forward. Soria is 7 months old now. She is smart, sensitive, affectionate, and full of potential, but she’s coming back with some setbacks that need gentle, thoughtful work. She missed out on some key early socialization and has had some digestive issues that are now being properly addressed. She is not currently available to just any home. Once she’s had time to settle in and rebuild her confidence, I’ll be looking for an experienced, patient, and committed home. One that understands the needs of a soft, intelligent Labrador and can help her blossom into the dog she’s meant to be. I’ll post more updates on her progress soon. In the meantime, I’m just glad she’s home.

Baja is still looking for his person! 6 months old with basic training and two AKC titles under his belt already! He's an amazing boy and has a huge goofy personality.

Puppies got to scattered feed in their outdoor pen during the break in the PNW weather! I love how engaged they got, and they were WIPED OUT after their prolonged sniff session!

Labrador Retriever
About Mia
Mia is the most amazing dog I have ever had. She is extremely dedicated to her job, whatever that may be, and throws all of herself into her work. She will try anything I ask of her, even if she has never tried before, and is a quick study. Mia has the stamina and brain power to go all day long if she needs to. On the other side of the dog ownership coin, Mia is a perfect house companion. She is happy to chill on the couch with me even if I don't throw the ball first. Her main priority is making sure she is as close to me as possible. Now, if I wanted to throw a ball, that would be great. For those who do sports like rally, obedience, and agility, she's a dream. She doesn't mind drilling for a good 20 to 30 minutes at a time, and that is a conservative estimate. If you have rewards coming, she will keep giving. I have watched her switch gears from a UKC DASH event, turning around, and walking into a formal Obedience ring. She is literally all I could ask for.
Excellent health testing
Excellent level
Feywild Kennels reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Labrador Retrievers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM), D Locus (Dilute) DNA test
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
