I'm Krystal F., the breeder behind Fitzpatrick's Irish Cream Doxies located in Cedar Rapids, IA. With 1 mama & daddy, my "parents" are spoiled, well-trained, family dogs, 1st & foremost. Our puppies grow up in our living room/kitchen/hub-of-the-house area w/ my family and our 5 dogs, a variety of breeds & sizes, my husband, teen daughter and Elem.-aged son. You won't find more spoiled pups!
Q. & A. with Krystal
Why did you start breeding?
Guided by the advice of our vet, a mini dachshund guru and owner himself, we went into the breeding journey of our mama & daddy based off of their coloring, temperament, health, and genetics. Rarely do vets suggest breeding, but after bringing in the 2 as puppies & watching them grow, our renowned vet encouraged us to give others the opportunity to have a pup as sweet & healthy as their parents.
What makes your program special?
Our family dogs are: Masters (my "husband's" black lab), Mia (my daughter's black/tan short-haired mini doxie), Bernie (tri-colored Bernedoodle being trained as a service dog), Pacific (mama- a miniature long-haired ee cream dachshund), & Quilly (daddy- a miniature long-haired cream brindle dachshund). Mama & Daddy are the only "in tact" dogs & all live in our house, mostly on the couch! :)
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include cream and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
