Meet the breeder

I'm Lourdes A., the breeder behind Flangel Dachshunds located in Valdosta, GA. All our dogs are AKC registered, health tested (DNA) & OFA certified. We've been breeding, training and showing dogs since 1985. We are dedicated to raising healthy and balanced puppies according to the breed standard. We love to keep in touch with new owner after the puppies are gone with you!

Q. & A. with Lourdes

  • Why did you start breeding?

Since childhood there have always been dogs at home and their loyalty and selfless affection captivated us in such a way that we wanted to make them our family and so we entered the world of breeding, working hard every day to produce beautiful and above all healthy puppies with the illusion that they will be part of another family and fill them with the same love that we get every day.
  • What makes your program special?

Dachshunds are addictive, anyone who has owned 1 knows what I mean. The breed was created to hunt dangerous animals (such as badgers) underground. For this reason they are tenacious and determined, with a great personality. The breed has lost a little of its instinct in some bloodlines. We have focused on preserving that original personality. That is why we have imported our stud dog from Ukraine.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include chocolate and tan and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We had a great experience with our puppy’s breeders Lourdes from Flangel Dachshunds. They are wonderful breeders and dachshund lovers. I feel like dogs are their primary focus in life. They are also dog groomers. When we picked our pup up they were so sweet and had everything covered from the documents, AKC registration and centenary information. I would highly recommend!

We had a WONDERFUL experience working with Lourdes! We spent many months researching Dachshunds and breeders, so when we found Lourdes and Flangel Dachshunds, we knew we had found the perfect fit! Not only is she extremely accommodating, but she puts so much love and care into her dogs and program as well. Our sweet girl has been such a blessing to our family! She is absolutely beautiful, and has such a great temperament. We truly couldn’t be more grateful for our girl, and the experience we had with Lourdes.
