Q. & A. with JAN

  • Why did you start breeding?

We started breeding our Doodles in 2011 with our beloved F1 Goldendoodles, Dood and Kitty. In 2015 we began breeding Standard Sheepadoodles, and in 2019 we expanded our little family business and are now Fleury Farm Doodles of North Carolina AND Tennessee, adding Mini Bernedoodles and Whoodles.
  • What makes your program special?

We breed for health, temperament and looks by genetically testing our adults for over 170 known genetic diseases, and we do OFA certifications on hips, elbow, patella, heart, eyes. We start our puppies out right with Puppy Culture AND Empowered Breeder training from day 3 of their lives (starting with Early Neurological Stimulation). We also begin house training when our pups are 4 weeks old.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Bernedoodle puppies are mini size. Goldendoodle puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Bernedoodle puppies include black and white and tri-color. Whoodle puppies include merle, black, and wheaten. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Jan is an amazing breeder and person. As a first time puppy mom, she has provided me support and guidance all along the way! I am loving Miss Rachel, who by the way is doing pawsome! 💕💚🥰

Working with Jan was amazing. She was always available to answer our questions, but often anticipated them and sent us information first. She was extremely welcoming during choosing day, having us to her home and allowing us to spend quality time with all of the puppies. We also appreciated the methods and effort she put into socializing the puppies to sound and people during those crucial early weeks. Our puppy came home with us right before the 4th of July and barely flinched during the neighborhood fireworks. Incredible! He’s such a sweet boy and we couldn’t be happier with our experience.

Our sweet baby Oakley, a mini Bernedoodle, is just about perfect! Jan and her family welcomed me into their home day one to meet our prospective puppy. This family loves their babies and it is so sweet to see. The puppies are kept inside the house with access to a doggie door and outside area. They have plenty of room to move and grow inside. Tons of information is given with your new puppy to aid in training and proper health. Oakley (Louisa) is just beautiful and so fun to watch play with our older puppy. We are in love and so happy to have her as a family member. Thank you Jan and Fleury Farm Doodles for our little blessing. 🐶

Jan was amazing to work with. Very prompt in her responses, knowledgeable and fills you with information. The dogs are so well cared for and it’s shown from the moment we brought home our Xander. She works so hard with the puppies and we are absolutely in love with our boy.

We have a friend - a happy customer of Fleury Farms - who recommended we look them up. We were thinking "Whoodle" and we are still on that list, but [Izzy] our Sage caught our hearts. Jan was careful to send us information about temperament as well as basic wellness information. We are happy to report that she and we were right. This a a good match! We are in love - and it is safe to say he is, too, settling best when we are both in eyesight of him. <3 We look forward to being fans of Fleury Farms, Jan, Becca et al for a long time to come.

We can hardly believe how quickly and easily we got our precious Willow! Jan moved heaven and earth to make it happen. Willow is beautiful, smart, house broken at 10 weeks (!), loving, and playful. We are so pleased and grateful!
