Meet the breeder

I'm Daniel W., the breeder behind Flock and Fang located in Montague, CA. We are a small family farm dedicated to breeding exceptional tri-colored rough coat AKC Border Collies, with deep roots tracing back to the historic borderlands of Wales and England. Our dogs embody the breed's legendary intelligence, stamina, and gentle spirit—perfect as loving, active companions and cherished family pets. From our dam's proud Welsh-English heritage, including her lineage in the International Sheep Dog Society (ISDS) Stud Book—a historic registry guaranteeing pedigrees that often trace back over 100 years—we raise healthy, affectionate litters full of joy, loyalty, and endless love, honoring the true warm-hearted essence of the Border Collie.

Q. & A. with Daniel

  • Why did you start breeding?

We got into breeding Border Collies because we’ve always loved their smarts and loving nature while working them on our family farm. We also raise Great Pyrenees for their calm, protective instincts—acting as gentle giants that safeguard our livestock and property—creating a perfect farm balance where the Collies bring energy and companionship, and the Pyrs provide steadfast guardianship, all while ensuring our dogs live happy, fulfilled lives as beloved family members.
  • What makes your program special?

Our foundation dam, Cindy, with her proud Welsh-English lineage registered in the International Sheep Dog Society (ISDS) Stud Book, inspired us to responsibly breed healthy, joyful litters that thrive as cherished family pets full of affection and spirit. We’ve always loved Border Collies for their incredible smarts and loving nature while working them on our family farm.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include tri-color and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
