Meet the breeder

I'm Karen F., the breeder behind Foley Dachshunds located in Humble, TX. I raise miniature dachshund puppies in my home, with daily handling, early neurological stimulation, and socialization. My focus is on healthy, confident puppies with excellent temperaments. Each puppy grows up with enrichment and training foundations to prep them for loving, well‑adjusted lives.

Q. & A. with Karen

  • Why did you start breeding?

I began breeding miniature dachshunds because of my deep love for the breed’s intelligence, loyalty, and joyful personality. I wanted to raise dachshunds the right way—inside my home, with hands‑on care, early development work, and responsible breeding practices. Over the years, I’ve grown my program with intention, always prioritizing health, temperament, and the wellbeing of my dogs.
  • What makes your program special?

My puppies are raised with a structured developmental curriculum including early neurological stimulation, early scent introduction, daily handling, sound desensitization, and enrichment activities. They grow up in the center of my home, experiencing household life from the start. Every puppy receives personalized care to build confidence, emotional stability, and a strong foundation for success.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Karen

Karen has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Karen partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

"I start matching puppies at about 8 weeks, once their personalities are clear. I spend time observing each puppy’s temperament, play style, and comfort level with new experiences. This allows me to guide families toward the puppy that will fit them best, ensuring a happy lifelong match."

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

"My pricing includes a genetic health guarantee, age‑appropriate vaccines, deworming, microchip, AKC registration, and early socialization with kids, cats, and dogs. A deposit holds your spot for a puppy and helps us plan the best match for your family. While non‑refundable, it can be transferred to another available puppy or future litter."

Contract & health guarantee

Karen may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Karen offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Karen directly.

Mrs. Foley is an exceptional breeder! She truly cared for my Winston and made sure he was well cared for/healthy. She provided me with my sweet lil' buddy who loves being my lil' shadow! He likes to snuggle and give smooches. His zoomies always bring a smile to my face. He is a very vocal lil' guy and he fits in perfectly with us. She checks in on him still and I really appreciate it. I love my Winston and can proudly say that I would be happy to update her on him throughout his adventures and reccommend her to anyone looking for a new lil' furbaby. ❤️🐾

Very happy and healthy pup. My vet was impressed with the medical records and care our baby had received before we adopted her.

Karen's an awesome breeder! She really does her homework to be an ethical breeder to provide such wonderful puppies. Harlow (formerly Ross) is such a sweet, smart and playful boy! He already knew where to go for potty as Karen already started all pups on training. He's very social, and such a cutie. I'd definitely recommend her if anyone is looking for a dachshund. 🤍
