Jennifer D.

Breeder of Australian Shepherds

Meet the breeder

I'm Jennifer D., the breeder behind Forestwood Australian Shepherds located in Lakeland, FL. We pride ourselves on breeding fully health tested AKC Australian Shepherds. Health and temperament are the most important. We take the responsibilities of breeding in full stride. We understand it is our duty to ensure our pups are healthy, happy, and placed into homes where they will be loved.

Q. & A. with Jennifer

  • Why did you start breeding?

We got our first Aussie, Boomer, 12 years ago as a pet. We knew nothing about health testing at the time. Boomer has had and many other issues. His loyalty and love made me fall in love with the Aussie breed and made me want to work towards bettering it. I educated myself and got a mentor and built my program
  • What makes your program special?

I follow the breed standard and only breed show quality Aussies that are fully health tested. I stay in touch with my puppy families and I am always there for grooming, training, and health advice.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
