Forge Labradors

Anne G.

Breeder of Labrador Retrievers

Meet the breeder

I'm Anne G., the breeder behind Forge Labradors located in Mills River, NC. We breed two to three litters a year with the goal of adding qualities to our lines through the careful selection of studs, whose temperaments and conformation complement our girls.

Q. & A. with Anne

  • Why did you start breeding?

After falling totally head-over-heels in love with English Labradors, I was compelled to do everything I could to help maintain this perfect companion for us humans, and that included breeding. So, I became obsessed and determined to breed great dogs.
  • What makes your program special?

We are very dedicated to making sure the right puppy goes to the right home. We keep little notebooks on each litter where we record observations. We give the Volhard temperament test to help determine where each pup goes. Our families fill out questionnaires that tell us what they want in a dog and give me the info I need to place appropriately. They have a Facebook page that's very active.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
