Q. & A. with Deb

  • Why did you start breeding?

I was blessed with some exceptional individuals of the breed that met and surpassed every breed standard and exemplified the very best of the Scottish Collie. After detailed genetic testing, it was made clear that breeding would be a good option to help preserve this special and beloved breed.
  • What makes your program special?

My goal is to produce an exceptional representation of the Collie and to continue improving the line with each generation with a focus on the breed standard, health, conformation, and temperament. I am very dedicated to what I do and what I am trying to achieve as a breeder. I work with passion, heart, and integrity, and I truly want what's best for the Collie line.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Scottish Collie puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Deb was terrific about communication, giving lots of puppy updates, photos, and videos. Any questions before or after Gotcha Day were/are answered promptly and thoroughly. All the pups were obviously well fed, well cared for, and well socialized. I highly recommend this conscientious and ethical breeder!

Franklin Farm Collies was so easy to work with! The communication was prompt and clear. I really felt comfortable working with Deb. She answered my questions, was so knowledgeable and willing to educate me and made sure she had matched puppies with prospective families. The whole process was seamless from beginning to pickup. I love my puppy and I cannot say enough good about Deb as a responsible breeder! And to top everything off, my pup was housebroken and healthy and well- mannered. It was obvious spent time with these 12 puppies to ensure they had been exposed to many things! Deb is the best!
