I'm Shannon F., the breeder behind Friel Family Dachshunds located in Lancing, TN. We breed our babies for health, temperament, and to maintain purebred standards. All of our babies are AKC registered. They, like our own dachshunds, are treated as part of the family from day one. New families are allowed to visit, as they grow until they are ready to go.
Q. & A. with Shannon
Why did you start breeding?
I went to pick up my 1st AKC dachshund after having rescues for 20 years. My husband fell in love with a male they had, in another litter. The breeder offered to be our mentors and off we went.
What makes your program special?
They are our babies 1st and foremost. We are a small program, so puppies get as much attention as possible, on a daily basis. Unlike many breeders, we don't rehome them when they retire, we love them forever! Our puppies stay in our living room and we treat them like family too.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include cream and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
