I'm Catherine Y., the breeder behind Funk's Four-Legged Friends located in Ladson, SC. We are committed to producing happy, socialized and healthy dachshund puppies that will make great pets for families and individuals alike. Our adult dogs live indoors as part of the family, and our puppies are raised in the comfort of our living room before being introduced to the great outdoors.

Why did you start breeding?
I always wanted a dapple dachshund. I bought my sweet Piper and then got her a suitable mate, Trex. I bred them once to see if this was something I wanted to continue and I fell in love with the process. So, or course, I needed more! I know the love and joy these pups bring to our lives, so I want to provide the same to other families.What makes your program special?
My dogs are treated as my children. They are raised in my home from day one, sleep in my bed, and the pups are raised in my living room. These pups come with love and discipline to make them the best companions and additions to any family.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Price
"The price includes the $500 non-refundable deposit, AKC registration papers, first set of vaccinations/deworming, 1 year health guarantee, puppy pack with information, bag of food, toys, blanket, etc. The deposit will secure the puppy of your choice and go towards the total price of the pup."

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Litter update on 30 Aug 2025 •Mama Piper is looking done after delivering 3 beautiful babies during the night. There are 2 girls (black & tan, blue & tan) and 1 boy (black & tan dapple). She did amazing, as she always does 💜 Those on the waitlist will be contacted first and then if anyone is still available, they will be posted. Good job and congrats Baby Girl Piper!

Trex is a black & tan male who is full of personality! He has the perfect body shape with a silky smooth coat. He has those "puppy dog" eyes that you cannot say 'no' to and look deep into your soul. He loves cuddles and snuggling as well as barking at the wind, sniffing out bugs, chasing lizards, and digging in the yard. If he's not in the yard, he's sitting in your lap the second you sit down.

Piper is a black & tan dapple who is very attentive and personable. She actually listens! She runs the pack of dogs in my household but is the best dog kisser around. She loves being wherever you are, staying out of trouble, and sunbathing. She was my first mini dachshund and caused me to get more!
