I'm Arwen B., the breeder behind Garrard Creek Shih Tzus located in Oakville, WA. I breed quality, Embark tested Shih Tzus. Shih Tzus and affectionate, playful and outgoing dogs with amazing personalities. They make great family dogs because they are great with all ages. The quality of my puppies reflects the conscious decisions I make throughout every part of the breeding process. I look forward to introducing you to the puppy of your dreams!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I have wanted to breed dogs since I was 12 years old. My daughter wanted a Shih Tzu for years so I finally got her one 10 years ago, then we added another one, then another one...they are like potato chips, you can't stop lol. Our original 4 are now retired, and I recently added a few more girls.

  • What makes your program special?

    I test for many genetic diseases in order to meet my goals to breed healthy, smart, beautiful puppies and continue to improve on the breed.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include tricolor, blue, red, blue and white, red and white, liver and white, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

    I got Mr blue. Now known as Adonis! I absolutely love working with Arwen! She's very responsive and answered every silly question I had. All of her animals are happy and well loved and taken care of. She did send him home with a beautiful little bag and things she advertised she would. I am in absolute awe and love with this lil guy and it's only day 1. He has been adjusting super quickly and well.     Our little lab girl, Bear is everything we could have hoped for. She’s smart, silly and wants to be everyone’s friend. She has already become fast friends with our 3 year old Heeler and the two of them spend most of the day either playing or with Bear trailing her through the house. At our last vet visit our vet said she’s perfect and we agree. Arwen was a great communicator, and was very flexible in making plans for us to pick up Bear.
