I'm Debra G., the breeder behind Garridachs located in Gideon, MO. My dogs are proven in the ring and in the hearts of their forever families. I take pride in my program and love my dogs. I strive to produce quality puppies for families that are structurally sound, healthy, intuitive and have wonderful temperaments. I am a preservation breeder striving for top-quality show lines and to ensure the future of the Dachshund for generations to come.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I am purposeful in everything I do regarding my dogs, including careful selection of breeding dogs and extensive health testing. My goal is to produce healthy dogs with great temperaments, working drives, and conformation that are exemplary representations of the breed.

  • What makes your program special?

    I am an owner handler of Dachshunds. I do not breed my dogs unless they are fully healthy and tested. I am dedicated to always having responsible policies when it comes to breeding, socializing, and training my pups. My heavy involvement in the show world speaks to the standards that I breed my dogs by. I will always stand behind my puppies.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include red, chocolate and tan, black and tan, and black and cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Debra

Debra has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $600 - $1,200 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes guarantee, AKC registration, at least two vaccinations, deworming, vet checkup prior to leaving and puppy socialization. All of our puppies in the litter are one price regardless of sex. Deposit is non-refundable unless there is an unforeseen issue with the puppy.”

Contract & health guarantee

Debra may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Garridachs reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Dachshunds.

  • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • PRA, Cone-Rod Dystrophy 4 (PRA-crd4)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
