Planned Australian Shepherd litter
Due Nov. 2026
I'm Jesse G., the breeder behind Gemfire Australian Shepherds located in Muncie, IN. I am dedicated to breeding a dog of both sound mind and body, with health, temperament, and structure being my top priorities. I breed as close to the ASCA and AKC breed standards as possible, and I strive with every litter to preserve the breed, while producing fantastic family companions that can do anything asked of them. I am a breeder dedicated to building a strong program of correct dogs that meet my best interpretation of the standards as I have been taught them by my mentors. My goal is to preserve the Australian Shepherd as it was meant to be for many generations to come; a truly versatile dog, that can work all day in any capacity asked of it and sleep on your bed at night.

Why did you start breeding?
What makes your program special?
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Where do your breeding dogs live?

These dogs are already reserved or have gone home.

Jesse has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Jesse partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.
“I strive to carefully and thoughtfully place each puppy with each family. Puppies are placed based on evaluations of their temperament and personality, and only after eye exams are complete and a thorough vet exam has cleared them for placement. Evaluations typically start around 7-8 weeks, with eye exams and vet visits happening at 8 & 9 weeks. Go home dates are typically scheduled for week 10.”

“Price includes AKC & ASCA registration (UKC available upon request), age-appropriate dewormings, first puppy shots, microchip & registration, health guarantee, and 30 days of health insurance. All puppies are the same price regardless of eye or coat color. Deposit reserves a pick spot on the waiting list. Puppies are matched to home by the breeder and buyer at 8 weeks based on personality and drive as well as gender and color preferences.”
Jesse may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Jesse offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Jesse directly.
When you pay and communicate on Good Dog, you’re covered by Payment Protection.
You can drive or fly to pick up your puppy from Jesse.

Now for the fun stuff! A new tug and playtime video! 😍

Phoenyx and Sa’Fyre's litter

Jesse G.
It has been an entire DAY! My old senior show dog Tempo (Piper x Luna 6/13/2015) came for a visit Saturday night, and I was up at 5:30am to start morning turnouts and start his groom. Then it was off to Noblesville at 8:30am to take Erica to work, back to the house by 11am where I got my grocery shopping done, did another round of turn outs, reset the puppy pen (and my entire living room), did all the dog and puppy laundry, vacuumed all the carpets, cleaned up my hairy mess in the grooming room, and made beef stew for dinner. In the midst of all of this, I have been working on contracts and paperwork, finished dinner at 6pm, popped Tempo back on the table for one more brush out while everyone else ate, and got him loaded up. Headed back to Noblesville at 7pm to pick up Erica from work and drop off Tempo, back home by 9:30pm, got Levi in the shower, ate my dinner finally, put Saf back in the pen to nurse while I got bedtime turnouts done, cleaned my cat boxes, fed and watered all the critters, and got everyone settled for bed. Now it’s almost 1am and my contracts still aren’t done, but - everything else is! 🙌 My apologies to anyone that was expecting paperwork today - it will be sent out tomorrow when I get home from work!!! I’ve got most of it done, just need to review when I’m not so tired to make sure that I didn’t get anything incorrect. Thank you all for your patience as we get closer to pickup day! 🥹

The puppies are wiped, the playpen is wrecked, and Grammy is at her wits’ end 😂 That salty look on her face says it all! They have completely pulled the adventure box apart three times today, and I’ve fixed it four haha! They have figured out the expanded area, and are seeking the box for potty 100% now. This week they get their first groom, and I will be introducing the potty pellets to the potty box to start transitioning off of the pads. Sa’Fyre is well on the way to weaning, the puppies are eating solids 100% now, and she is only nursing 2-3 times a day. The babies have been introduced to other friendly adults to start learning social cues from other dogs besides mom. They have met Grammy Flicka, their dad Phoenyx, their sister Aphrodite, and their aunt Phoebe! They are starting to become little dogs and it’s so amazing to watch! 🥹

Jovi left with his new family! Look at those happy smiles! 🥹

I know this one is a little long, but I really wanted to capture exactly how much toy and tug drive they are already exhibiting, as well as the amount of sustained interest. These puppies are IMPRESSIVE! They are confident, drivey, and people-seeking. They are already offering eye contact and behaviors! I love them! 😍

Happy 4 weeks babies!! 🥳 The setup got rearranged and now includes a puppy adventure box AND a ball pit!! They LOVE it! 😍 I am absolutely obsessed with watching them, they are such a fun group of puppies! Video in the next post! 🥰

And the reason I missed a day on posting the puppies is because Pants and Destiny went to the vet for updated shots, and then went for a meet and greet with a lovely family. I’m thrilled to announce that Pants has found her forever home! Immense thanks to the Davis family, you’ve been such a treasure, and thank you to GoodDog for connecting us! 🥰

2 days later they magically doubled in size, and post-apocalyptic playtime looks like a herd of wild drunken monkeys the morning after an all-weekend frat party! 🤣 Can you find Tweet?!

They were all incredibly offended by the fact that they couldn’t see out anymore after I put the door on. 😂 Saucy and Porsche tied for who had to yell the loudest! 🤣

About Phoenyx
Phoenyx is an amazing boy, with a phenomenal temperament. He handles every situation confidently, and always with a smile! He has that big happy Aussie grin that looks up at you as if to say, “Wasn’t that fun?!” He is always ready to go, but never in a hurry - he’s perfectly content to bed rot an entire season of Paw Patrol with his kiddo, and he takes payment in cookies please. 😂 When it’s time to work he’s all business, focused and attentive. He excels as a service dog and is frequently in public as a breed ambassador. He loves everybody equally, unless you have cookies, then YOU are his favorite. Typical boy, the quickest way to his heart is his stomach! 🤣 He would give you the keys to the car, and plug home into the GPS for you if he thought he would get a steak out of it! 👀🤦🏻♀️

About Jovi
Jovi is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever lived with. He is a love bug, very velcro to his person, but loves people in general, and kids are his jam!! He sleeps on the bed and regularly hogs the couch. He is 100% trustworthy in the house, does not counter surf, does not dumpster dive, and has a laid back, easy to live with personality. He is medium energy, with a lovely natural off switch, but lots of drive when you ask for it. He is excellent with cats and other dogs. He is lovely in public, and has stellar leash manners. Jovi has taken and passed his beginner agility classes with ease, and showed zero hesitation for anything asked of him. He happily works at distance and doesn’t have to be glued to you, but he’s attentive and a team player. He picks up new commands and signals quickly, and doesn’t mind drills or repetition. He is ready for his CGC and TKN, and could get his RN with very little effort. He shows promise for dock and fastcat as well. I am hoping for someone that might be interested in continuing Jovi’s sport career, but he would be perfectly suited to family life as a house pet as well. I am in no hurry to place him, and will be incredibly picky about where he goes. Pedigree and health testing reports available upon request.

About Sa’Fyre
Sa’Fyre is a lovely snuggle bug with a sweet disposition. She is quiet and calm, preferring to hang out with her people. She’s an equal opportunity student, and she works for either cookies or a good scratch behind the ears! She’s no-nonsense and likes to be right (hey, the dog!) 😂 She’s got a lot of herding instinct and was used frequently to keep the chickens where they belonged when I still had birds. She loves dock diving, and will hopefully be completing some jumps this summer! She will also be completing some other titles this summer after she is done with puppies, including her CGC and TKN. She is excellent in public both on and off leash, and is also frequently seen in public as a breed ambassador! I am excited to get her into some events and see how she does!

About Draco
Draco is my foundation male, and while sadly he is no longer with us, his progeny live on here, happy and healthy! I am proud to have him as the cornerstone of my program! Draco is one of the most loving, happy and enthusiastic boys that I have ever had the pleasure of living with. He is exuberant, pushy, and drivey, with a decent off switch that you sometimes have to go looking for. 🤣🫣 He is steady and calm on sheep and ducks, but agility defeats him, because - don’t you see all those FANS OUT THERE CHEERING FOR HIM?! THEY ARE IMPORTANT!! 🤣🤣 He preferred to say hi to everyone and never knew a stranger! He loved the dock, and was affectionally dubbed the “Duck Dog” because we always found him in his water bowl! 😂 While Draco is no longer with us, I have many frozen breedings available on him, so he remains listed as active! He is available at stud to approved dams via frozen breeding ONLY!

About Bomber
Bomber is the sweetest guy and just loves everyone. People, other dogs, cats, kids, he’s whatever! He loves going out in public, he loves hanging out at Petco, he loves baths and getting groomed and going for walkies and getting pup cups! His favorite human is my teenage daughter, and he can usually be found cuddled up with her in bed binge watching Supernatural! 😂 Bomber has been shown limitedly and won his classes in ASCA shows a few times, with very nice compliments from senior breeder judges, but has not gotten any points. He has had one litter here with us, and while they were lovely, I have opted to go a different direction with my program, so Bomber is available for retirement at a steeply discounted rate.

About Phoebe
Phoebe is one of the most gentle, laid back girls you will ever come across. She declared herself my SDiT at about 6 weeks old, and there was no looking back. There was never any question of whether she was staying, she made that plain.🥹 She is the last remaining dog in my house that was raised by Taz. She shadowed him, like she knew she had to learn it all and FAST. By the time he was gone when she was only 6 months old, she was already fully tasking, and by 9 months was public access. She was a natural. She has been shown in AKC conformation and has several very nice reserves to majors in extremely limited showing. She is also trained and almost ready to compete for her rally, obedience, and agility novice titles. She has been held back due to a lack of available classes and trials in our previous area, but I am very excited to be back in an area where we can start working on those titles instead of just training for them!🤪 Not only is she beautiful and intelligent, she is calm, handler focused, has an excellent off switch, and she has high food drive with medium toy drive and medium energy. She is extremely praise-driven, and has no problem switching tasks.🤩 When she’s not in work mode, she’s a goofy, silly snuggle bug who prefers to lounge in the bed and trip you on your way to the bathroom. She firmly believes that personal space is overrated! 🤣 Phoebe is incredible with kids, cats, other dogs, she gets along with everything and everyone. 🥰

About Taz
Taz was my amazing do it all and go everywhere dog. He is one of my two foundation males, and has contributed immensely to my program, but most importantly he was my best friend. Sadly, I lost him in March of 2021, just before his 11th birthday, due to complications from mast c3ll tumors. Taz did everything - rally, obedience, herding, conformation, agility, and he was my public access service dog for over half of his life. He has produced offspring and grand offspring that have gone on to multiple titles in multiple divisions, as well as multiple service and therapy dogs. I am so incredibly proud of the legacy he has left behind. While Taz may no longer be with us, I do have several frozen breedings saved on him, which is why he is still listed as an active stud dog.

About Winnie
Winifred, fondly known as “Winnie”, is one of those one-owner dogs. You know the one, where the owner just gushes about this amazing dog that they have, and then you get to meet it, and you think it’s absolutely nothing like described. 😅 One of those “either the dog is bipolar or the owner is delusional” type of situations. Well, I’m here to introduce you to them both! 🥳 For me, Winnie is hands down in the top 3 most invaluable dogs in my house. She is calm and quiet, laying around in bed or on the couch, or on the floor, just chilling. Kids screaming, cat walking past, tv blaring, other dogs stomping all around her, and she’s impervious. Ignores it all like she’s the Queen of Chaos with her nose in the air. Then a car door closes in the driveway and it’s not one she recognizes, so she’s immediately the first up sounding the alarm, lighting the bat signal, and preparing for DefCon5. 😂 She will protect her home, her kids, her kitty, her Chaos from all comers! 🤦🏻♀️ Put her in the kennel and bring her out on leash? Totally fine. This is normal. In public? Impeccable manners. Snobbish to the extreme. Will turn her back on lesser individuals. Refuses to make eye contact. Not fearful, but arrogant. Peasants are beneath her. For mom? She play bows, gives tiny baby whisper woofs, loves to play fetch, will swim for hours, and has the silliest, quirky personality. You just have to be part of the “in crowd” to get to meet that side of her. 🥰

We love our Gemfire puppy! It’s clear that Jessica is thoughtful about the foundation her puppy litters receive. He arrived with all paperwork of course, but in addition, he’s socialized, used to the crate, sleeps (mostly) through the night and already walks willingly on a leash in our yard. He understands pottying outside and is very brave with noises and new people. Our work will continue where she left off but we are grateful for the detailed basics that were “pre-installed” on our lovely puppy! Thank you!
